Pics from ice caves in Svalbard in the Arctic. I have not been down in the caves there, as I chose other activities when I was in Svalbard, but I know people who have been in the ice caves, and it was quite breathtaking what they saw down there, but it is not for people who are a bit claustrophobic, they say.

What a great post by NorwayUnn, with such great pictures.

For a few years I was involved in Mountain and Cave Rescue here in N.I. Our County Fermanagh is like a Swiss Cheese underground.

Many cavers and cave divers have tried to plumb her depths. I was involved indirectly in a cave rescue here which affected me quite deeply.

It involved a cave diver who got into trouble and lost his life, we could not get him out sadly :(

In 1980 I visited the Postojna Caves in Yugoslavia, now Slovenia. They were spectacular especially for me, the Proteus eyeless fish

I thought then and think still sometimes about this little fellow, no eyes to see

Isn't it great to have someone who can 'see' for us all things even when we cannot

Oooohhhh, I wish I was skinny and had more energy so I could go spelunkering!!!!! I'm sooo fascinated by caves!! I'm in cave country here in stone co, Arkansas. We have some awesome caves, here. Here's some photos looking out of Blowing Cave near Cushman, ARkansas, that a friend of mine took, plus one of me standing in front of the cave. The cave suppose to go back 8 miles and there's some wild, wild stories about this cave. I've never gone back far enough in it, just the opening area.

Thanks! Have ya or anyone else ever went caving and stumble upon any awesome cave paintings, evidence of Native Americans, etc? I would love to come upon some cave some time and find some awesome cave paintings! By the way, I just read a book that a friend lended me--a novel "subterranean" by James Rollin, about these people who go underground to find out about a lost group of cavers and find dinosuar creatures and an underground civlization living underground! I don't know why but I love reading bizarre stuff like that!

Who all is into Caving?

I am in the TAG area. I am a member of the NSS. I work for Raccoon Mtn Caverns.
Hi,
We go to Tag every year. We are members of TBAG. I'm getting too old to do a lot of caving but enjoy the walking caves up there. I would like to see a time at TAG for a morning service on Sunday.
