  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

(OSV News) — A new film starring Jim Caviezel aims to move millions to end the scourge of child trafficking.

“Sound of Freedom,” directed by Alejandro Monteverde, will debut in theaters July 4 with Caviezel starring as Tim Ballard, who began his career at the CIA and then spent more than a decade as a special agent for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security battling child exploitation. Assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Ballard was deployed as an undercover operative for the U.S. Child Sex Tourism Jump Team, infiltrating criminal organizations that sexually abused and trafficked children.

In 2013, Ballard and a team of former agents left DHS to form Operation Underground Railroad, a private foundation that assists international governments and U.S. law enforcement in dismantling criminal trafficking organizations that target children.

Ballard has testified before Congress on child trafficking and has advocated vigorously to raise awareness of the issue, which is estimated to affect at least 1.7 million children globally, according to the International Labor Organization.

For Caviezel, portraying Ballard — and replicating his dramatic real-life rescues of enslaved children — is a role second only to that of playing Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ,” with a similarly compelling mission.

Anyone got tickets to go and see the movie?
(I see where you can buy them online at their website.)

I hope they will eventually livestream it for viewing on their website ...
or put it on Amazon Prime Video.

These kind of 'difficult to watch' movies I prefer to watch at home ...
where I can pause the movie, fast forward, or take a break from it for a few minutes, if the scenes get too intense.

Given the subject of this movie, I expect there are going to be intense scenes.
I have a hard time watching movies where persons are suffering, being abused, tortured, etc. Often just cannot.
But I imagine this movie is going to be very helpful in exposing what is happening to so many missing children ...

How our children need our prayers.

This excellent interview popped up on my phone in the middle of the night.
Alittle long, but I just had to stay up and listen to it ...

Jordan Peterson interviewing Tim Ballard and Jim Caviezel (who plays 'Tim Ballard' in the movie "Sound of Freedom"):

I listened to that interview as well. Awesome interview!

I recently saw the movie "Sounds of Freedom". So impactful that people going to see it have purchased 2.5 million free tickets for others to watch. They want to get the word out and you can get free tickets here if you would like:

I'm not sure it'll help at all. The 'oh like that movie' response is highly common. So, people know and are therefore more complicite by inaction.

The people who do this are primarily wealthy. 100k is the low limit salary wise to afford the prices. A lot of the most influential people in the world are in on in - the people who own the institutions. Billionaires who can by almost anyone and eliminate the rest. Victims have been silenced before the population for decades. Even the Sex Pistols sent out vinyls for free to their fan club of a censored out portion of their BBC interview about Saville being a pedophile. It wasn't for decades after the Sex Pistols spent a lot of money on those vinyls to raise awareness before even a tabloid was willing to raise the issue - only after Saville was dead. Meanwhile Saville was given access to an entire institution of vulnerable children. He even, apparently abused children while the camera was rolling, his hands below the frame but in clear view of the studio. Nobody cared.

People will watch this film and continue not to care. Because you want to do something? Well, you have to take out an entire echelon of society.
