I don't know exactly what the Salvation Army thinks of Catholics but I've always had warm feelings for the Salvation Army. :) I actually went to a Salvation Army church a few times in my past. :)

I think Abiel summed it up well. I don't tend to have a problem with any christian denomination probably because I have had involvement with six different denominations. I have also been involved with a non-denominational mission organisation. On a personal level I only tend to lose respect for people who want to tell me I'm not christian because I don't attend the right denomination or those who tell me I haven't been baptised because i was baptised as an infant.

Hello,

Could you tell me what the Salvation Army thinks of Catholics?
Do you believe in ecumenism?

Peace

I think you all pretty well can guess where I'm gonna be on this one.

Abiel got it right for me as well in relation to the Army's stance towards the Catholic church.

On a personal level, I gotta say that Catholics ROCK:clap:

I spend many many hours in OBOB, and have many really good friends on CF who are Catholic.

I don't agree with everything that they believe or practice, I don't need to. What I have gained from my time in OBOB is an understanding and respect of and for their beliefs.

In fact, from my own experience, The Catholic Church and the Army seem to get on really well.

Perhaps the fact that we both recognise the need to back up our faith with action gives us that bond.

We are all sword brothers (and sisters) in the Army of the Lord, and I count it an honour to serve alongside my Catholic friends.
