depends on whom you ask.

Yeah ok... but I'm really after your viewpoint after you have examined the evidence that can be obtained.

What is your opinion about how long this has been believed?

Forgive me...

***blargh*** yuck... (mixed together!?)
Sure. I don't see this whole part (the consecration), but the priest does put the tiny pieces of bread into the chalice of warm water and wine. So, when we go up to partake, on the teaspoon is a piece of bread (His Body), and His blood (the wine).

I also think it was done this way (the spoon), so to prevent accidents (spillage of His Body and Blood).

Correct.

That is why we cross our arms when partaking too...

Given that God created Rationality, Scientifically observable laws... I tend to disagree.
That is useful in certain arenas, for sure, but when communicating with God, whether through prayer, partaking of His Body and Blood, or what have you, the rationalistic mind is not of use. The heart is.

that some people believe what they have been told, is true.

Get'em while their young... they say...

See the spear? (far right) I cried the first time I saw it used.

Forgive me...

Don't liquidise me...

Yes at pentecost . they all spoke their native tongue . and everyone present heard their own language spoken . the Holy Spirit was the translator .

...understandable...

so today, God is speaking . and we all hear Him in the language of our hearts .

Manmade doctrine...

not tongues . but a language too profound for words .

...er...

Don't be gettin all mushy.

Forgive me...

*squish*

I didn't think you would see it... anybody else see it?

Forgive me...

Huh, see what!?

Thanks for sharing that information, OUSA. What the priest says is so beautiful. My priest continually says how unworthy he is to be there doing this. He also says that priests, including him, doesn't really understand to the full extent, what is truly happening in the Altar. It's way too profound to grasp even for him and them.

You're welcome. I'm not worthy to partake either, nor should I be serving the Altar.

Forgive me...

That's how my husband feels when he's serving in the Altar, which is every time he goes to Liturgy. He never looks up at the Altar table while the consecration is going on either.

So... tag... you're it, Lay Reader!

You two guys rant on about the Eucharist like a couple of Catholics... you actually remind me of my Anglican vicar.
