I don't think most of you have seen these threads, and I certainly hope you haven't wasted the time it would take to wade through them.
I am curious as to the opinions of the Catholic folks around here about homosexuality, and which of these opinions are where in the broad spectrum from dogma to mere hypothesis. The impression I have gotten is that the current teaching is that homosexuality appears to be an inherent trait in some people, and that these people are called to celibacy, on the grounds that same-sex sexual acts are condemned by the Bible.
I'd be interested in feedback on this, commentary, and such. I've had about as much debate over hermeneutics as I can take; I'm curious as to what the Church's official experts think, and how certain they are of it.
There is an attached poll for personal opinions, too, because those are always fun.
