Catholic leader believes it would help ease tensions between religions

Catholic churches in the Netherlands should use the name Allah for God to ease tensions between Muslims and Christians, says a Dutch bishop.

I believe Arab christians already call God as by HIS name ALLAH. !!!

What would this suggestion solve, except to make Christians say an Arabic word instead of a word in their native tongue?

It seems to be putting on a good show for God knows what purpose.

Ok, a few things to address..

1. This is the NETHERLANDS.. The land of open and new ideas! The place where drugs are legal, where you can walk nude around the country!! It is a liberal, and diverse place.. One of my favorite countries in the world!

2. "allah" is a name for G-d. It is not like they are becoming muslims.

I do not support Christians calling G-d "allah." I just don't like that name that much, and it will do nothing to ease tensions between the radical conservative muslims and the radical liberal Christians in the Netherlands!
Perhaps the radical neo con muslims should use the name G-d for G-d, and not "allah" since they are in the Netherlands. If they are in
Europe, then they need to follow our ways and quit being so stubborn.

And this Bishop needs to learn that although the Netherlands is such a diverse place, calling G-d "allah" might be a little too diverse lol

What do the Jews call Him? According the Exodus 3 His Name appears to be "Hayah"?
