  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi everyone, I haven't been on OBOB in sooooo long, I can't believe how much the layout has changed!

Anyhoo, I'm getting married this summer, and we're looking for a good way to word the invitation that would include the point that the ceremony will also be a Mass. The best I was able to come up with thus far is:

Mr. and Mrs. John Smithe
request the honour of your presence
at a Mass celebrating the
marriage of their daughter
Jane Marie
to
Mark John Doe
on Friday the thirtieth of June
two thousand and six
at four o'clock in the evening
Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church
On the corners of Road and Avenue
My town, Illinois

Does anyone have any other suggestions or anything they used that they were particularly fond of??

Thanks guys

Congratulations Acceptance, it has been a long time. :)

I think it looks great. My motto is the simpler the better. Looks good. Though you could word it in a way that defines it the sacrament of marriage. That might be a little wordier, but it would be good too.

Good to see you and congrats again. :)

Based on what I saw when we got married, it would usually be referred to as a Nuptial Mass if you're having the full mass. We just had a Liturgy of the Word, as neither DH nor his family is Catholic, so I think we just said "ceremony" on ours.
