  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I keep forgetting to post this but, today is my mother’s birthday and I’m getting her a Collection of G. K. Chesterton’s Father Brown series because she has an interest in the mystery genre. I’d like prayers that my gift is well received by my mother and that it leads to her conversion to the Faith.

She received the gift quite well, turns out there is an adaption on Netflix, and she was curious about it. So she actually quite happy to have a book version of the stories.

Father Brown is pretty awesome. Saw a couple of adaptations on Netflix. My mom, who seems to be turning towards Eastern Orthodoxy and knows my growing love for the Catholic Church, kindly recommend them, and I got hooked! I used to enjoy those adaptations of Hercule Poirot with David Suchet that would come in the 80's, so these were fun, too.
