Is anyone watching the R-rated Castlevania animated miniseries on Netflix based on the Nintendo video game from years ago? (I *REALLY* recommend it)
For those who don't know, the games focused on members of the Belmont family, who were vampire slayers. Despite Nintendo's policy of not using religious references, there were multiple Christian symbols used in the game as well as the appearance of helpful Catholic priests.
Well, if the Catholic Church didn't like Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame because Minister/Judge Claude Frollo was the villain, I can imagine they won't be too pleased with this series.
If you're Christian and you've seen it, does this fantasy piece offend you and why?
If you're not Chrisitan and you've seen it, what was your reaction to seeing such an explicitly...uh...negative portrayal of another religion?
