Castlevania anime?

Does anyone know if there is a Castlevania anime?

(Actually, that should be Akumajo Dracura, I guess)

Don't recommend Vampire Hunter D as a substitute, please.

I suppose it is possible, but I very heavily doubt it both because I know a lot of die-hard Castlevania fans, and we have never even heard of plans to make such a thing, and also because Castlevania wouldn't really make a good anime. I mean, the games have never really centered on plot, since the plot for 90% of the games is something along the lines of "Dracula ressurected again! I hope someone will stop him!"

Yeah, but Synphony of the Night (with just some of Dracula X) would work, there've been Manga of those (saw some scans too, but just a couple of untranslated pages).
