  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Probably the best group of all time. I love the song "Who am I" (I'm listening to it on repeat right now as I type :)). This song makes me cry everytime I hear it. We sung it in chapel today. It's amazing how worthless we are without God. This song shows how much God loves us, which has been my theme since Saturday evening.

I love this song (see my signature). I'm speechless, or without words as it were, to describe the lyrics. Isn't it awesome, I mean just HUGE, that God would give someone these words, words that can touch so many people. It's amazing to me.

It is such a good song...I like it very much...It puts things into perspective, and usually makes me cry too.......I mean, on the inside, I am a big tough guy...no crying for me. It is probably my 2nd favorite as far as lyrics go. I actually like MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine", just a little bit better. Nontheless, it is a great meaning.

Who was that guy? He doesn't know what he's talking about.

I went back and listened to the lyrics again, and I never realized how good of a song it was...I really like it, possibly better then MercyMe. Collectively it is a much better album than any MercyMe album. I like all of the songs.

Has anyone heard their new Live From Atlanta album CD/DVD? That one is really good too, I love me a live album!

"Who Am I" is a great song with great lyrics, and Casting Crowns is a great band. =)

For my last youth retreat, Who Am I? was our theme, and naturally it was also our theme song. This retreat really helped me to grow more in my relationship w. God, n I know it impacted a lot of people in my youth group. It was a call to return to our source and purpose of life...I mean, who are we, really, without God? This song reminds me that I am nothing, and it humbles and comforts me during hard times...

"And You told me who I am...I am Yours..."

That is one wickedly poorly thought out statement.

What about Led Zepplin, or The Sex Pistols, eh?
Well, in my book as well as many others I'd pick Casting Crowns over Zep or the Sex Pistols anyday.

The CD is awesome front to back. Favorite song is Voice of Truth with Who am I a close second.

I will not report or mod this thread, but I will point out that Casting Crowns are a Contemporary Christian band, folks...not Praise and Worship. This is in the wrong forum.

We all understand that Praise and Worship Bands are those that do worship music as their main focus of music they perform, right? Just because a Christian artist may sing about faith, Jesus, God, etc doesn't qualify it as Praise and Worship...but rather Contemporary Christian Music.

I see this alot in this forum, where some folks get this confused.

Now, obviously we understand that some artists do both their own contemporary material AND some standard praise and worship songs, and that would obviously allow them to be discussed in either forum. But artists like Casting Crowns sometimes exclusively perform their own writings that are not in the standard praise and worship format. Those artists should be discussed in the Contemporary Christian forum.

I will forward this to the mods that mod this forum, and see if they will move it to the apporpriate forum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no worship songs on their debut album, correct?

PS- They are my favorite Christian Band too!

what do you guys think about the song ***WHO AM I, lyric wise? what you think about the songs overall?
I THINK we sing that at church, is it the one 'Who am I that he should die, giving life so freely?' If so I really like it!
