My oldest son who is 50 was diagnosed in June 2004 with ALS. I moved from Colorado to Washington to help care for him in February of 2005. He is now totally bedridden and can only use his right toe to operate a special program on the computer and is beginning to lose the use of that toe.
My daughter-in-law and I are his only care-givers and she works at Real Estate so most of the burden is on me. I was hoping to find like people to help diffuse the stress. Seeing a child totally immobilized and terminal (unless the Lord intervenes and heals him) is probably the worst nightmare for any parent.
I'd love to hear if you have anyone has any words of wisdom.
