  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

hello everyone. I've talked to a number of older folks and we're in a modest size town.
They tell me there is nothing to do....and I realize that. Years ago where I grew up
we used to have a community building were we got together and played bingo (not for
money, but grocerys and things. We used to charge 25 cents a card....we would play
for canned foods, various things like that, blackout was maybe a sack of sugar, or
flour, etc.
we also had 10 point pitch, and peaknuckle....usually the games would run 2 to 3
hours, and after that, we would have a light potluck, maybe cookies or cake,
sandwiches, etc.

I also see where wii could be used, like bowling, golfing, and even shooting.

I've been thinking about suggesting having these things, but have a feeling the board
and church membership....would not go for it, some think there is no need, some think
it's too much work...some don't want it because they might think its not right.

all of it is for fun, and activity for people..and have it open to the entire community.....

was always told, if you can get them thru the doors, you've got half done.

Sounds like fun. If your church isn't too up for it, you could always just invite people from your church and community and open up your house for it. Then you could invite anyone, and people who don't want to come, don't have to come. You could even ask other people to bring food or games that they might wanna bring. Just an idea.

God bless.
