Name: Brother Virgil (Vergil) Quirinus (ignore the Cardinal)

Age: Twenty-Seven

Build: Lean

Height: Six ft. One in.

Biography:

Born to a Perian minor noble family that had fallen on moderately hard times, it seemed that the young Virgil would have to make his own way in the world. This was cemented when his father went completely broke in a series of gambling games the night before his son’s first birthday. It finally reached a point when he was so bad that he actually sold his title for a small amount of money.
He then was killed by a gambling shark’s men who knew he could not pay them back.
The man’s wife went mad with grief, and his son’s earliest memories were of his nerve shattered mother’s weeping.
Thankfully a rich ancestor had paid for the education of all of the heirs and the young man could still attend the colleges and enter the army.
Because of this he fell into the class of “Intelligencia” the well taught lower nobility that studied in Sal Kadedin.
The young man soon took some of the best teaching in the world and became one of the quickest students in Sal Kadedin.
However he was always looked down upon by the students of Sal Kadedin because of his rather strange past.
His strange past forged a strange personality, after graduating university he was sent to the army.
After a very short term there he was sent to where all non-militia men went, The Church.
He was a witty man, very intelligent and a cultured.
Thus he easily befriended the higher nobility with his position of Cleric.
However, he did not have the personality to be a priest and his eccentric interests were soon questioned by superiors.
This kept him out of the major church and into the position of Cardinal of the Inquisition now all but completely destroyed.
He had more of an interest in the arcane than any other cleric, and had read more arcane texts than most necromancers. That, along with politics, corruption and psychology were his specialties and he honed his knowledge of them.
This made him many enemies, if that were not enough he had made a powerful enemy. Virgil was not, technically, a priest and he was quite handsome, the daughter of a high ranking nobleman had fallen in love with him.
Unfortunately he had a rival who added all of the rumors together and accused him of heresy.
Virgil’s lover defended him well; however his rival was remarkably powerful and had a powerful friend, however, since his foe loved her he did give her an ultimatum.
Instead of kill him they banish him.
Her argument was spectacular: Banish him until he proves loyalty.
The deal was made.
He is banished from Peria until every necromancer is removed.
Obviously she didn’t know how to haggle.
Cardinal Virgil soon was battling in Anserak, there he was captured and placed into a prison.
For whatever reason the warden took a liking to having a member of the Inquisition in his prison and had him watch every…questioning.
This taught Virgil quite a lot about fighting, and interrogation his primary problem was not to kill his opponents.
However the warden was not very intelligent in letting a diplomat of his skills into a position to talk to prisoners. Virgil staged a prison break and, with a group of prisoners, fled Anserak. That is where he learned true fighting, primarily knife and staff but decent with most others.
He was the only one who survived the trip.
It is one year since that occurred.
