Can't seem to stop!

I really can't stop ive tried to stop but nothing works i still cut. My legs full off scars and fresh cuts. I just cant seem to stop i really want too soo badly. Feel like God cant help i ahve to help myself. feel like he doesent forgive me over this i asked for forgivness soo many times i think his had enough coz i keep going on at it.

I am sorry that you have been suffering for a while and I can empathsize with your frustration and sense of helplessness.

Have you tried working with an accountability partner? Do you currently see a counselor?

You are right in saying that you must first want to help yourself. You are a very precious and special daughter of God and I would recommend positive affirmations to help you cope with negative thoughts.

hmmm... nothing u have tried works... does that mean that nothing at all works? no... have u tried praying? or reading from the bible?

do u know corinthians 10:13? i love it: 'No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it'

I just want you to know that you are so beautiful, and that God so incredibly in love with you! Yes, you! In the bible it says to forgive 70x7 but if I'm right,I'd say God can forgive even more than that, even when we just feel like it's not possible... He truly does forgive you and he truly DOES want to help you recover.

I am sorry your going through this. And I agree cutting is acutally addicting. Because I still have scars and cuts too. I try stopping, but didn't work. Just do something to get your mind of it.

Thats the best thing to do. It takes a while to commit to stopping. Like, i've cut for 3 or 4 years, and it took me a while to actually stop.
Sometimes talking to people helps, maybe even people who have been in your position and fought out of the addiction.
Also, finding alternate things to do works, meaning distracting yourself. It is hard to do, when your mind is so focused on one thing. But it isnt impossible to distract yourself. Find things you enjoy doing and keep doing them. Sometimes your mind will get so into what you are doing, that you forget about things that are going on around you.
