Can't love me?

1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

I see the word hate and liar floating around in these forums a lot lately. Some think it is acceptable to hate one another. Hmmm! Not according to what Jesus said!

If you can't love me....

I agree Gerry, Sometimes these forums really get out of hand. I do most of my posting on this prayer, advice, and praise forum. There are to many confrontations on some of the others. i just want to help people through prayer, and share my love of God. The word hate should not be found on The Christian Forum. God Bless

Amen and Amen. As Christians we know Jesus is all about Love. As Christians, we are clearly taught hate has no place in our world! May we always love as Christ commanded us!

Good point Gerry. You definetely can't solve problems with hate. It only expands the problem. Love might not be with everyone on everything, but it can always lead to a good conclusion. It all depends on the choice we make.

Alot of hard people see love as a mushy mushy type thing. With Jesus, this love is no where near that! It is unconditional love that you will rarely or never see in this world and all you have to do is say 'yes'.

Yeah, thanks! I sometimes have difficulty expressing things. But this is so true. Love is DEFINITELY a matter of choice, backed up by action!

Wonderful post Gerry, I thank God we have you to remind us of these things. Not only must we love our brothers and sisters, but also our enemies. Not an easy task, but with the help of God, and the help of our brothers and sisters in Christ may we all learn how to do this.

I am glad you stayed. Like I have said these boards are really pretty much a mirror of life. What makes it tough here is that there are so many denominations and doctrinal differences represented. Well, just like in our own communities. We tend to major on the minor's and soon we are at each others throat, and when we arent we are allowing ourselves to be riled by the agnostics and atheists and even others who are here only to agitate and stir trouble.

We need to just keep our focus on Jesus and remember that it is by Grace through faith in Him that we are all saved by His spilled Blood!

We need to seek the common High ground, which is Jesus, and live the love He has commanded us to live.

When we agree with other fellow Christians we out to say so and build one another up. We need to love and encourage one another and remember what we are truly here for.

We should never put ourselves above another and feel it is our place to judge and correct their thinking. Instead if we feel a brother/sister is wrong we should pray for them and for ourselves.

We should do our best to display the love of Jesus and unity of The Spirit before those who do not believe.

May God help us and bless us as we do.
