Has anyone else made Candles or Candle Holders b4?

I am making this at the moment. I think they are cool.

What do you Think?

Veneer Votives

Using a craft knife or sharp scissors, cut the veneer to the appropriate size for wrapping the votive. Allow room for gluing one piece on top of the other. Wrap the candleholder with veneer. Where the two ends meet, apply wood glue to the edges. Place rubber bands around the candleholder until the glue is dry. Once the wood glue is dry and the veneer is secure, apply Minwax wood stain with a foam brush. Apply additional coats for a darker look. After stain dries, place candles in the veneer holders to brighten any room.

Neat! I might have to try that! I love this kind of stuff.

I used to work at a candle factory. It was great fun. I think it was the most fun job I've ever had.

I used to make candles when I was in junior high and I thought it was great fun. All that melting and mixing and pouring and waiting...oh, well that part wasn't so fun. But unmolding them and seeing how beautiful they were, then giving them a buffing to finish them, now that was fun.

Hmmm, maybe I should start making candles again!

I don't make candles but I decorate candle holders. They are two-piece ones, the candle rests in the top part and I fill up the bottom bowl part with sand, seashells, glitter, and other good stuff. Then I create a beautiful bow that goes around the top part of the candle. Where the top half and bottom half of the candle holder meets I hot glue various kinds of flowers around it. They turn out gorgeous!

Does anyone know of any good sites to buy candle holders at? The kind I need are two piece, glass ones.
