• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can we talk about Darwin Sunday?

For some reason my Darwin Sunday thread got moved. Moved to a place I don't even have access too. I was hoping for a discussion of it with other creationists so that's why I posted it here. So I'm starting this new thread. Here is a link to the story again.

I moved it to the common forum, I thought it would be better suited to that forum. I should have let you know what was going on, sorry about that. The article is a potentially divisive issue and I think AIG was clear that this letter was awfull. I don't like to move threads because I think its better to let things run their course. I simply didn't think it appropriate for Creationism.

Actually, I will allow it to be discussed here as well but if this turns into a debate I'll close the thread.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I wonder why it didn't let me go to the link if it is just the common forum. Anyways. I didn't think it would cause a debate here since everyone here isn't suppose to support the goo to man evolution idea. Here though we have a bunch of churches embracing evolution. I lost the list but some where on the internet is the list of all the pastors that have signed up for this. These same denominations are ones that tend to embrace homosexuality and other "liberal" ideas that are becoming popular in our culture. I believe the root problem is that the authority of scripture is not in these churches and that they feel free to interpret the Bible as they see fit.

The question now is how or should be make a difference? How can we bring these groups back in line with Biblical theology? How can we prevent our own churches from going down this wrong path? Let's discuss and pray.

By the way the link works now. What happened is what I thought would and that's why I refuse to post in that forum. They made personal attacks on our Christian brother Ken Ham. That is certainly not the kind of fruit I expect to come from Christians. I have talked to Ken Ham personally several times and it upsets me that this web site allows this kind of junk to happen.

Here is another update. AIG is doing a radio special and radio stations are reaching out the communities about this issue. You can read Ken Ham's blog where he talks about it here. Also I did find the web site that lists the pastors supporting this. The list can be found here.

Thanks for demonstrating my point KerrMetric... :sigh:

Well it looks like Darwin Sunday wasn't to bad. From what I have read only a few churches actually had sermons supporting evolution. Those churches were mostly smaller ones with 100 or less people in them.

MOD HAT ON

This is a Creationist only forum, only fellowship posts are allowed from noncreationists. From the sticky at the top of the forum 'hello to all and it's good to be back! Please read and read often':

please note:
I am a TE who has regularly posted in this forum and I have now returned, but this time wearing a silly little hat that says, "MOD" on it

We are going to find a way to get along in these forums. First step is going to be that TE's will NOT post non-fellowship posts in the creationist forum--and visa versa--period! You may ask serious questions if you have them, but do not try to mask your debate or ridicule in the form of a question.

Inappropriate posts will be deleted and as necessary warnings will be given out. This will be handled in a non-biased manner to the best of our ability. If you are unsure about a post of someone else's use the report button. If you are unsure of your own post, PM a mod here first.

We must remember that all of us (TE's and Creationists) are guests here at CF. As guests, we are to act as if we are Christian guests in someone else's home--in this case, Dr. Erwin Loh. We will, as Christian guests respect his rules or we will no longer be welcome.

These forums have the capability of creating fellowship or enmity. We are going to strive for fellowship. If all members end up getting banned or leaving, then we will simply close the forum, but we will respect the owner's rules.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!
Tommy

edited to add:
the reason this is posted in the creationism forum is NOT because creationists are the main ones violating this rule. It is posted here because so many TE's are coming here to debate.

http://www.christianforums.com/t113...od-to-be-back-please-read-and-read-often.html

I have overlooked some of the nonfellowship posts but if they continue action will be taken. Calling into question whether or not Ken Ham or any leading creationist is a Christian is in clear violation of the rules of the forum and CF. The only reason I have not deleted this post is because it was responded to by project 86. I don't want to have to close this thread much less issue warnings, but this sort of thing is not allowed on here.

What's with the repeated trolling? Really, why is it done?

I think it's absolutely stupid that some churches are actually supporting "evolution Sunday". Why would anyone be dogmatic about something that's not even proven?
