I would like to start off by saying that I have very little knowledge of who Satan is. I know that he is very real, but I don't know much about him, and feel like I should know more about him, so that I know what to avoid. Now my main questions are as follows:

1. Can Satan hear me?
2. Can Satan see me?
3. Is Satan present when I am tempted?
4. Is Satan the one tempting me to sin?
5. If the answers to the previous questions are true, can I tell Satan to get away from me? Or should I ask God to remove him?

I know that Jesus spoke to Satan. He told Satan to get behind Him when He was speaking to Peter, and Jesus told Satan to get it over with when He was talking to Judas concerning His arrest. Should I have the same reaction to Satan?

I would also like to just assure you that I in no way I'm trying "chat" with Satan, or anything of the sort, I'm not Satanic, I am believer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and I know that I have the Holy Spirit inside of me. I am just trying to know more about the "dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan" (Revelation 20:2).

I thank you in advance for any answer you have for me, but I would especially appreciate any scriptural evidence that you can find.
In Christ, Matt

Hi
good questions.
Always pray to Jesus Christ to deal with Satan and any dark spirits of his. Do not directly try to tackle anything like that. They are very real.
The very name if Jesus is enough. You and I belong to Jesus, He will protect us always.
So go in peace and rest in Jesus, our Good Shepherd.

Just my opinion...

1. Can Satan hear me? Yes
2. Can Satan see me? Yes
3. Is Satan present when I am tempted? Yes and/or demons
4. Is Satan the one tempting me to sin? Yes
5. If the answers to the previous questions are true, can I tell Satan to get away from me? Or should I ask God to remove him?

Spirits of demons are among the angels which fell from heaven and joined forces with Satan. Although they are “unclean” and in Satan’s domain, they have been used throughout history to affect God’s purposes. It is a deep mystery how in rebellion the creature has less freedom than in obedience. And so it is with Satan and the demons. Although they believe they are independent, in the end their rebellion is used by God for His purpose and glory.

As humans, we believe we are free and independent too. Actually we are shaped by thoughts, experience, dreams, etc. All of these come about by God. Thoughts are not our own. They come from a source and we pick the source... God or Satan. Truth or lies.

So to get rid of temptation, resist the lie and replace with truth. Typically the Bible helps with this. Also pray to God and above all trust God. The last one is the hardest but most essential part. Because you must believe that God hears your prayers, cares for you, and also has everything working for your greatest good. Easy enough until you run into trouble and then our human nature has us question it. But stick with it, it is faith to the greatest degree. Believing in God existing is not really that hard. Believing he holds you in his hands is tough and many don't believe it.

3. Is Satan present when I am tempted?

3 - Usually but not necessarily
4 - Not always:

James 1:14
But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.
