Hi guys
quick question, I currently tithe 10% of my income to my church, which is obviously what I'm supposed to do, however, I've recently started going to a second church as they run an Alpha course I'm currently attending and a lot of my friends go there.
Now, 10%, I can just about manage but it is a struggle, but I couldn't give 10% to both churches, as that would just about cripple me financially.
So my question is this, can I split my tithe between the two churches, and give both 5%? I can find no Biblical guidance and its starting to concern me.
So does splitting it seem the right way to go, or does it have to be 10% to each church?

Timothew is correct. You are not obligated to thithe, that was for the Levitical preisthood, for a temple that no longer exists.Only give when and where God tells you.And he might even say dont give there,or to that place,or something like that.Hi guys

Should he mail his check to Jerusalem?Hello Strix. First I'd like to commend you on paying your tithe. That indeed is a rarity in our christian society today.
My advise to you would be to pay your 10% to the church you are a member at, and if you feel strongly impressed to give to the other church than an offering by itself would suffice.
Don't be discouraged. God is faithful and is able to do more with 70% than we can with 100.

Only tithe in the place God has chosen as the dwelling place for his name, that is Jerusalem (Deuteronomy12:11)

I understand!
Pastors love to teach about 'tithing",but they never teach how Paul also had a day job too!
Tell me, how should the ministry be supported?
Don't forget that the tithe and offering belongs to the Lord, so if you don't have to tithe you don't have to give offering either.
Giving,is not a compulsory tithe, that invokes judgment.(Malachi 3:9).So perhaps you can show me where Paul taught "tithe".He said not to give out of compulsion.(law).Or stress,by the churh putting burdens on the members. You do know that Paul never took tithe right?
10% is a guideline. Some people tithe more and some less depending on how much they can or can not afford.Hi guys

Why would Paul have to teach tithe when God had already instituted it? You know you seem to be real afraid of judgment, and to avoid it you simply accept that those things that you don't like to do, that would bring judgment, simply don't matter anymore thus nullifying any judgment that would result in a lack of obedience.Giving,is not a compulsory tithe, that invokes judgment.(Malachi 3:9).So perhaps you can show me where Paul taught "tithe".He said not to give out of compulsion.(law).Or stress,by the churh putting burdens on the members.
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Do children usually give money to their parents or do parents usually give to their children? To all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God.
The children are exempt. They are allowed to give, and can give whatever they wish.
Save for the fact that giving is how we support the ministry, and that's how it is supposed to be. Everyman is to give according as he can, but the 10% is set while the offering is to come from the heart.

Please show me how we are bound by old cov tithing laws. Why would Paul have to teach tithe when God had already instituted it? You are suppose to give willingly. Don't forget that along with the tithe is an offering. God says the tithe is holy and is for Him. The offering however is to come from the abundance of your heart.
