Hi. Im 27 and was born with mental retardation and pain in my brain and stomach. Because at the severity of my suffering a few months ago I got angry at God and rejecting my faith and rejected his sacrafice on the cross. I am now scared that I am going to hell. How do I receive forgiveness for this?

Tell God that you are sorry that you rejected Him. Ask Him to forgive you and He will.

The Apostle John wrote as much in 1 John 1:9.

Jesus told His apostles to forgive those that wrong them seventy times seven times, so imagine just how much greater God's own mercy is. If you ask for His forgiveness, He is always willing to give it.

There is no need to panic. The fact that you are sorry about what you did, and the fact that you are seeking forgiveness shows that you have not lost your salvation and are therefore not going to Hell. The only thing you have to do is just say sorry and continue your walk with God. You were in a moment of weakness, and God understands that.

I too renounced my salvation at one point in my life but thank goodness we serve an awesome God who does not hold our moments of weakness against us. I rejected God and walked away from him for 7 years. But even thought I rejected him, he never left me, and spent that entire time trying to win my heart back. Eventually I got back into serving the Lord, and our relationship is great! He never stopped loving me that entire time.

Just know that a person who totally rejects God will become what the Bible calls reprobate. A person who is reprobate knows exactly what they are doing when they reject God and they don't care. If you really renounced your salvation and lost it, you wouldn't be here trying to figure out of you could get forgiveness, and you wouldn't care what God thought about you at that point. We all do dumb things when we get emotional, but God knows our hearts, and he knows whether we mean something or not. Rejecting God is something that is done on a heart level (a conscience decision is made at that point), and not out of our emotions.

Remember that the Spirit lives in you and knows why you do things. He will know when what you say is motivated by something other than your real desires.

You can trust God to judge justly, to know that pain, both mental and physical has motivated your words.

The same way you always could, believe the gospel and receive the Spirit. You were suffering, clearly that was a factor. Do you believe Jesus died for your sins, because that would include you lashing out because you were suffering.

Once you believed on Jesus Christ your sins ( we all have them) past, present and future are forgiven. You can’t become unsaved no matter how hard you try. There is not a sin that can compete with the grace, mercy and unmerited favor of Christ. No one except Jesus Christ had or has perfect faith. Christ blessed you and made you a blessing.

First off. Welcome to the club. Not only are you not alone in this "i cursed/rejected God club" but this club has billions from this current generation, billions during your parents generation, billions during your grandparents generation, and billions of people from generations that stretch out ever since the first man.

Point is, through out time countless people have cursed and rejected God due to whatever circumstances, and I can tell you that others have done even worse: Job did, David did, Peter and the apostles denied him and ran.

People have even cursed and rejected their own parents, friends, siblings, spouses, and maybe some have cursed you yet plenty have had that considered "water under the bridge".

You really think God is that petty, angry, self-centered, and just straight up dictator like that he is going to get so seriously offended by how you reacted to your circumstances that he's going to make you "suffer in hell for all eternity"?

Other people through out time have had worse done against them, and they forgave it - likewise God also had worse said/done against him through out time.
What you've done is nothing new, and many many more have done it or will do it.
Don't worry about.

Rejected.. hmm. Met Him did we? Know Him do we? :) You have never rejected Him. Jesus coming to His own.. doing signs and wonders.. walking talking teaching.. living with them for 3 years.. they knew this carpenters son. They rejected Him.. you never have.

So .. just confess it and He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleans you from ALL unrighteousness.

Now know and understand this. God does not EVER use fear. You have it now.. so.. since that FEAR is not of God..and GOD is not saying your lost for ever.. gee who would be telling you this? Satan.. and he can only lie. So if he is telling your lost.. and he can only lie then FLIP IT!

Hey.. no one can say John 3:16 Rom 10 9-10 to many times :)... go and be at peace.. Jesus has NEVER left you...and BY HIS STRIPS we were healed.. He has not changed.. your mind? did not He say "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."... SOUND MIND! In Jesus name
