Can angels really appare?

You've seen that TV show Touched by an Angel and maybe the new series called Angels in America. Is it pure fiction, or is their some reality hidden in those shows? In them they are either as we are; without wings, wearing everyday clothes. Or they look more like the angels long invisioned with the wings and white robe. Or are those shows sending the wrong message?

I saw FLCL. There aren't any robots coming out of MY forehead, I can tell you that. What about goblins? Are goblins coming out of our portals to protect our dungeon-hearts?

If angels exist, then god probably exists as well. If god exists, then aren't angels supposed to live in the silver city in the sky or something? Has the Sandman lied to me?

Can Santa's reindeer really fly? I think the first is question is, do they even exist?

I don't know. Did Gabriel come with wings in the description? The Seraphim certainly did. Six of them to be precise.

Personally, I'm unlikely to call a TV show a good source on this topic, but it is worth noting that many stereotypes we have of angels aren't accurate in comparison to the ancient writings of them.

Depending on how it is used in the Bible, "angel" may refer to either a physical or spiritual manifestation of God, one of three classes of supernatural beings (seraphim, cherbubim, and demons which are fallen angels), or even a human being who is serving as a messenger of God (and that person may not even be aware what he/she is doing is carrying a message).

So the answer is definintely yes, though the angels common depicted in art and movies are only one of several possibilities.
