actually the people i work with are all from various political and theological beliefs. i left that one alone because its a stereotype that i know exists. what do you want me to do? say nuh uh? there isnt anything i can do to disprove it to you unless you work in the media. sure there are liberals, but there are lots of conservatives too.

however, i respect anyone who works, no matter what it is they are doing. if they are trying and not asking for free rides, i admire them. i am offended that you belittle what it is i do for a living. quite unchristianlike

ok how an you advocate socialism??? im sure you work, but i busted your horns because socialism is rediculous. it presents and easy out for those who would take advantage of thse who work. why would you want to give away what you earn to scum of the earth. people will always take full advantage of a socialist system

yes, thats why it doesnt work, because people take advantage of it. if it did work, and people didnt take advantage of it, it'd be a good practice.

i think everyone should work, and everyone should be allowed to work. i think everyone should have healthcare and access to drs. does that really make me such a bad person?

Because you obviously disapprove of organ harvesting and uneven male female ratios, what you wrote implies that the Chinese aren't getting along fine with their communism, which I have already explained, is in name only.

In regards to China is wrong for harvesting organs, having a higher ratio of men than women, and murdering baby girls, are these activities government approved? If they are not, then they being committed by criminals. Is America so crime free that you can start pointing your finger at other countries for crimes?


Let's assume for the moment that the Chinese government endorses the killing of women and children. By your standards shouldn't you be condemning your own country where your own government and soldiers have admitted to the killing of innocent civilian women and children?

War crimes? Soldiers ordered to gun down thousands of Korean refugees, old men, women and children (when the soldiers complained that they didn't like shooting civillians anymore, the Americans then sent their planes to bomb the refugee columns!). What about US soldiers cutting off Vietnamese body parts for souveneirs, Government permitted random murder of Vietnamese civillians.

Again, I have nothing against any one country. I am just not blind to the fact that every country has dirty hands.

Some people criticise the Japanese for hunting whales to eat, yet the Americans almost wiped out the entire buffalo population in America. It was not even to eat, it was to deprive someone (the native people) of something to eat, double whammy.

People throw around terms like China's human rights record (which I do not think is good either), but they fail to look at their own. The slavery, and before that, the native americans. How can one rightly point the finger at another country like you have?

So applying the standards you have shown here, can you say that America is also dirty?

Is America also (as you put it) "***ED UP".

To answer this question properly, we need a much firmer defintion of communism. If we take communism we mean the Marxist states that have to date been the only states to emerge that call themselves communist, then the answer would have to be no. According to Marx, God does not exist and without God there is no Christianity.
On the other hand, from the New Testament it would seem that Jesus and His apostles pooled their resources into a communal trust. No apostle was richer than any other as everything was shared. The first Christian communities were similarily organized. So in this sense Christians can be communists.
However, since the word 'communist' is so linked in everybodies minds with those murderous and incompetent regimes that arose in the twentieth century, perhaps there might be a less emotion-laden term that could be used to facilitate debate.

Got through most of the post and I see we have steered into the wrong land with this topic. Again, CAN A CHRiSTIAN BE A COMMUNIST? In other words, in a communist society and economic, can a nation, state, or such live under the ways of Christ and his teachings?
My theory is that it can (I'm up to my neck in research for my economic paper). I site our U.S. military. Our military is the most perfect (give or take) communist society. While all production is for the government (meaning your told what to produced, how much of it, etc.), every one is trained, educated (to a point), has a job, recieves income - no one goes hungry, no ghettos, everyone has health care, children of miltary parents receieve an excellent grade school education (I know being I spent grades K-10 in them and it's much differnet from the public school system), there are playgrounds, and libraries (black/hispanic neighborhoods seem to lack bookstores and libraries but that's a different topic and term paper). Our military proves that communism works. All production is for the government which in turn benefits society as a whole, not a greedy entrepeneur, that sounds like Christianity to me.

I think a christian most certainly can be a communist. Communism is an economic idea (well, in the context that I'm stating here it is)--it isn't evil of itself, no more than free enterprise is. Partially from being brainwashed to believe in the economic ideas that I was raised in, as nearly everyone is, and partially from my own logical deduction, I myself find that communism doesn't work on the large scale after the first few generations, although it IS working on the small scale AS WE SPEAK. Families are communist. Some small communities operate with communist components. The workplace, even, very often provides a universal supply of resources to be drawn from by its collective employees.

At any rate, I think the question "Can a christian be a communist?" is like asking "Can a christian be a Mercury Sable engineer from the 80's?" or "Can I love Christ and still work as a Mac OS lock-up prevention consultant?" Disagreeing on a design for sucess is not the same as disagreeing about which god is God.

in theory, yes a christian or society could be communist. if i could trust 300million people to share everything we produced it would be heavan on earth. unfortunatly there are many bad evil people. so our system is the closest we have to keep the bad from dragging down the good

america tried that....terrorist dictator, murders thousands every year, we went in and tried to get rid of him, some of the world wanted him to stay and keep murdering people. Why should we devote our resources to better the world, when the world doesn't want our help..it seems you're darned if you do, darned if you don't.
