  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey all... I've been a member of CF for awhile but haven't been on lately. I used to attend campmeeting as a kid but just went to the one in Bozeman Montana just last week and it was wonderful. Sitting in on all the 'classes' and sermons as an adult was a different experience and I loved it because I'm thirsting for knowledge right now.

so I was just curious, has anyone else attended a campmeeting? What were your experiences?

I got some great new bible studies (the Prophecies of Hope series) and was recommended an interesting book (The Cross of Christ by John Stott)...

excited to be here! :clap:

Welcome aboard!! :wave:

My wife and I have gone to a couple of days of our local camp meetings and have enjoyed the fellowship of song and the talks given. Definitely a more relaxed feeling for fellowship.

Currently attending tentmeeting nightly.....obviously a poorly scripted effort to pursaude invitees that other churches got it wrong.... Expecting more serious attacks on Sunday worship in the grand finally.

Where is the gospel that saves in all of this nightly chatter?

All regular member believe that these meeting are targetted at guest and so they look arround for new faces to encourage.

Crib,

The experience of the 12 tribes are an example to us in Jesus Christ.

Rom 9:30-33
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. KJV

Everything written in the book, both OT and NT, are written as a witness against us, to prepare our hearts and minds for the witness of the Spirit concerning the righteousness of Jesus and the judgment of the prince of this world.

Even the Gentiles do not seek after righteousness, and yet God gives them the gift of righteousness.

Isa 65:1-5
:1 I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.

2 I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

3 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;

4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

5 Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. KJV

Rom 10:19-21
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.

21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people. KJV

...Not to mention starting out by scaring everyone with those beasts of a different color. According to the Bible, Jesus says, "If i be lifted up...,I will draw all men......." How about starting out with that?

Yeah Cribstyl, they no longer work as they did when I was growing up. Times have changed, peoples needs have changed,., The message need not change, but the delivery needs some prioritizing and updating.
