Callled?

Hi, I started at Kings College university in London a few weeks ago on an English course, but I felt so uncomfortable and felt I had to change to theology. I'd been told I couldn't change my course but I felt it so strongly so I went and asked and the switch was remarkably easy. I'm now thinking about ministry, but don't really know where to go. Lots of people have said how caring I am, and how I would make a great minister. But I've never really given a talk or sermon to a group of people, just talked to people individually or in a small group. I was just wondering how I should proceed.

Do you currently attend a church? If so, are you actively involved? One of the best ways to help you determine what God is calling you to do is serve in various capacities in the church. Perhaps you could ask your minister if you can spend time with him as he goes about his work or even if he can picture you in the ministry.

Most of all, spend time in prayer and don't rush into anything, take things one step at a time and trust that God will lead you.

Hey there! I told you, you have the heart of a pastor. Long as you're willing, and I know you are, He will open doors and give you the tools you need to serve. No worries sweetie, He has plans for you and always provides what He requires. Our prayers are with you!!

Be very cautious with this endeavor. The Bible has some to say about pastors/teachers. Do not take this too lightly, if you decide to be a pastor. I can't say that enough for we are in an age where too many people take the office of pastor too light and it ends up with the detriment of the congregation.

Do not be too hasty to jump on this. Take plenty of time in prayer. And, wait for the Lord. Wait.

how should you proceed? as the Spirit leads.
Saying Yes to God is the first step. think back to when you first became a Christian. did you know everything about it from the beginning? of course not! and you're not expected to know any more about ministry now than you did about being a Christian then.

your courses will be designed to give you a background for being a minister, but your practical experience will come from the field. Trust God. if He called He will equip you with everything needed to fulfill that calling.

"Is there any thing else in your life that you can do and be happy? If there is, do that instead." Sound words of advice. My pastor challenged me when I first considered youth ministry. I couldn't so now I serve.

If there is anything you could be happy working at do that. The calling of God on a persons life should be clear and specific. You may be at the beginning stages of understanding what He may be or may not be calling you into.

Pray, seek the counsel and comfirmation from other Christians, talk to your pastor, and pray alot more, and serve the church and it's members in as many different ways as possible.
