Greetings all.

Many of us strongly believe in creation as written in a literal Genesis. I too share the same passion as many of you about the Word of God. God's Word should be central to our lives. We always must test anything that may come into conflict with scripture against scripture. We know our faith, and we know it takes faith to believe how we believe.

Jesus Christ intended for us to be one Church. Paul preaches this in the Bible. We also know we are to correct those who may be following in the wrong path.

How do you correct one who does not want to be corrected. First, you realize that they don't want to be corrected, you state your belief and then leave it. Thus, you plant the seed and let the LORD harvest.

We as creationists have said what we believe. We as creationists need not to say any more. We as a body in Christ need to adhere to God's commandment of love and forgiveness.

I am not asking you to give up your belief in creationism. I am asking as a servant that we cease in any debate or aguement that is presented against us or against others who also call themselves Christians. We must realize, as Christ did, we are servants to the LORD God, and to others. It does not help, in anyway, to participat in debates or arguements about our beliefs. One may state their belief in a loving and non-argumentative manner, and then leave it.

We do not need to express our beliefs to any theistic evolutionists. They know where we stand and how we feel. So there is no need to be involved in any debate or arguement over our beliefs or theres.

In this median we cannot do anymore then what has been done. So I am asking, as a servant to you and to God, that we do not participate in any debates that may arise or any arguements that may arise against us or against creationism. We do not have to agree, but we have to forgive and love.

I am also asking that each one of us holds the other accountable. If I keep debating the issue of creationism I expect one of my brothers/sisters to remind me to leave it, forgive and love. We cannot accomplish anything through debate and/or arguing.

The LORD will not forgive us, we do not forgive others. We need to uphold what Jesus Christ said, love your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and love your neighbor as yourself. There is nothing that can be said that has not already been said in the evolution vs. creationism issue.

I feel the LORD weighing heavy on my heart that our action to the issue needs to be silence. By reacting it will only increase the debating and arguing which is not pleasing to the LORD. The LORD knows our hearts better then anyone, including ourselves. Let us instead put more concentration into the study of God's Word, prayer, worship, and reaching out to those who do not believe in God.

I am asking that we do something different in this forum, discuss how we as creationists can reach non-believers. Let our focus be God and on reaching those who do not believe rather then debating those who do believe and arguing with them.

I am asking that if you feel the same to respond in this thread. We will each hold the other accountable in Christ and work to uplift each other and not debate each other. Let us remain silent in an issue that has been over debated, let our silence reflect our love that we will not participate or tear down fellow believers. We have to realize that there is nothing that can be said that has not already been said about evolution and creation.

By our keeping from debating, our love will show. Even Jesus Christ knew when to just leave the issue be, when everything had been said. Let us too follow His example. May we fellowship with each other and keep from debating and arguing.

In Christ Jesus our Saviour and LORD, King of Kings, and God Almighty!

That is very hard to do. How do you not react when the only answer ever give is "Well, science say this." Evolutionists are so condecending most of the time. They have chosen to accept everything science tells them without question, and then accuse us of same for having our faith.

Overall, I think the only real hope we have for reaching the evolutionist is prayer. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!!! Only God can soften their hearts.

Prayer is good, but involving ourselves in the debate and/or arguement helps nothing. I am sure you have seen others cut/paste selected posts and put them in the debate area. They are not trying to make a point, they are trying to argue. Someone has pulled your post above and put it in the debate area. I am asking you that you don't respond and you just let it be. The only thing that will happened is fuel the flame.

In the debate area, theistic evolutionists are painting creationists as those who are weak in faith. It seems that if we cannot involve ourselves in the worlds teachings, then we are weak. Maybe it is true, maybe it is not. Does it really matter in the overall scheme of things? No. God knows everyones heart.

Remember it is said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." By our silence in debates and arguements, it will create peace. Let the others be the ones who attack. Jesus Christ has shown us that there are times that we should not speak. When we know that it will only be used against us, and to argue.

God Bless

God Saves,

Having spent more then my share of time debating theistic and Darwinian evolutionists, I think I can relate to what you are saying about debate being ineffective in trying to reach theisitic evolutionists. Over the years I developed an interest in apologetics mostly from my own interest in the historical reliability of the New Testament. Eventually my interest turned to evolution since it seemed to be at odds with a Biblical worldview I found myself in a number of rather heated debates. While I expect this from atheists and agnostics what is supprising is the ones who consider themselves Christians, and very often are, who are so stongly skeptical of Genesis 1 as history. Don't get me wrong I have learned a great deal in these exchanges but I have come to the conclusion that science is absolutly neutral in this controversy.

While it is difficult to cross reference my Biology textbook with Genesis I have had a certain amount of success doing this. For instance, in Genesis there is mention of living creatures reproducing according to 'kinds' and the modern definition for species (organisms that interbreed and produce fertile offspring). The real problem is with two models for the origin and development of living systems in our world. The creationist and the evolutionist are in complete agreement on this point:

"According to the evolution model, the origin and develompment of all things can be eplained in terms of continuing natural laws and processes operationg in a self-contained universe. The basis of the creation model is that at least some things must be attributed to completed supernatural processes in an open universe. These are really the only two possibilities."

(Henry M. Morris,Gary E. Parker, What is Creation Science?)

“Creation and evolution, between them, exhaust the possible explanations for the origin of living things. Organisms either appeared on the earth fully developed or they did not. If they did not, they must have developed preexisting species by some process of modification. If they did appear in a full developed state, they must have been created by some omnipotent intelligence.”

(D.J.Futuyma, Science on Trial)

While I am in total agreement that divisive and argumentative debates should be shunned, this area of study should not be abandoned by Christians. Part of our salvation is the spirit of wisdom and revelation that is meant to transform the believer into a wittness that is wise as serpents and gentle as doves. I agree with you on one important point, we should pray more and debate less since it is God that opens the eyes of our heart to the truth of the Gospel.

Grace and peace,
Mark

I know how you feel, but silence is most definately not the answer. Silence means the death of our position, and ultimately, because their position leads naturally for many straight into apostasy, a death of Christianity entirely.

I remind you of our apologetics mandate that God has given us:

Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2. Cor 10:5)
In whom [God] are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Col. 2:3)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. (1 Pet. 3:15)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1 Cor. 1:20)

‘Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord. (Isa. 1:18)

‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’

Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.’ (Matt. 22:36-38)

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Rom. 12:2)

… earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. (Jude 1:3)

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Jesus replied, ‘You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. (Matt. 22:29)

We are to be one church, that is true, but a unity in error is a false and hence unbiblical unity. We must help our bretheren see (and many now are seeing) the problem that their position holds for Christianity.

One is tempted to contemplate at what point your suggestion of silence ends. If we are silent on creation, should we be silent in politics? What about abortion? Shall we say nothing as our society is overrun by homosexuality, violence, pornography, perversion, and humanism? No. We must correct error and folly to our dying breath if need be, and I for one will not stop until I am dead, for this reason.

On the other hand, there is nothing stopping us from being civil and calm, and understanding about this topic.
