I am just flabbergasted at the moment.
So my boyfriend and I have been struggling with some 'fleshly' sins lately and decided to try some new strategies in combatting it together. I suggested we start by praying every night together. We prayed together a little bit ago before he went to sleep(we live in different states), and it was actually a really wonderful and genuine experience since neither of us have ever liked praying around other people(especially me for some reason).
Anyways, after the prayer, I add that maybe we could also read a random verse accompanying the prayer each night. You know--to have some words of wisdom to meditate on. I go to a site that pulls up a random verse from the bible each time you go to it/refresh the page, and I was absolutely shocked as I read this out loud;
1 Peter 2:11 "Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul."
It literally felt like a direct comment on what we were struggling with earlier.
Both of us were shocked and amazed to have God interact with us in such a straightforward and loving way--TOGETHER. I've had experiences like this in the past on my own, but this was the first time I'd ever had firsthand experience with what felt like the Holy Spirit with someone else right there.
It just goes to show you that God really is present with all that you do...and is more than willing to answer when you call upon him for help. ;u;
