A Different Spirit​

Numbers 14:24 – “But my servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit, and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendents shall take possession of it.”

The word “but” means that Caleb was an exception to all around him.

Those who are reading this say: “Lord, I need a different spirit!” Say: “Lord, I need an exceptional spirit!”

In the center of God’s anger, there is a loving gesture towards a man named Caleb. There was something about Caleb that made him different. There was something in Caleb that stood out in the eyes of God.

It was not Caleb’s appearance that made him stand out. It was something deep within that God saw. It is something that can differentiate you from the rest of the believers.

It was a time of lawlessness where people had lost their faith and were backing off from God, yet in the midst of chaos one man stood out. Those other people had spurned God to a point where God was ready to deal with them, but one person was all he needed to change his perspective. One person was all he needed to carry out his plan to bring his people into their land of milk and honey.

So what kind of spirit did Caleb have? Caleb had a righteous spirit. It was a spirit of love and complete trust. It was a spirit of self-giving where Caleb lived to love, trust and be obedient to God.

I keep telling you that if you grow in God, maturing spiritually, you will be elevated in the Kingdom, receiving everything that God has for you.

For those of you who require scriptural proof, this should be all you need.

Well, I like Caleb. He is really obedient unto the Lord.

But my favourite biblical character besides Jesus, is Jacob.

Jacob doesn't really do much great things. He stole his brother's birthright and blessings. He was a deceiver.

Yet, God loves him and blesses him abundantly, because his heart seeks after God.

Whenever I fell down, and sins are rampant in my life, I think of Jacob and it encourages me to seek God even in time when my life is not 'okay' before Him.

I love Jacob. He is one person who truly seeks after the blessings of God, and he encourages me.
