Hello folks. This October, a comet by the name Tsuchinshan–ATLAS entered the inner solar system and is visible from Earth. Now, I did not have a chance to see the comet due to light pollution and I do not get outside that much. However, the images of the comet show just how beautiful our solar system is. The comet originated from the very edge of the solar system in the Oort Cloud and is made of ancient ice and rock. My guys, @sjastro and @Vambram may like this, as we are both into space. The orbital period of this comet could be 80,000 years.

You are welcome, brother. Space will always be my interest, until the day of my death. :) Now if only we could have Captain Kirk's Enterprise and fly through the tail of the comet. It would be cool for humans to visit a comet one of these days in a manned spacecraft. The BBC did a good job covering the comet info, same with Wikipedia. That photo from Dan Zafra is beautiful, especially with the canyon below.

Trees, lights and clouds..it can be frustrating.
Yeah. Maybe we need a comet to enter the Earth's atmosphere. Then we can all see it, but only for a few seconds. Then we would sadly be toast, just like the dinos.

Gravitation is a powerful thing we take for granted. Some moons stretch and contract causing inner heat and volcanos because of their varying distances from the planet they orbit.

Can you guess I have been watching Nova?

Do you remember comet Hale Bopp?

I was not around when Hale Bopp flew by in 1997. I am only 25. And yes, I have watched documentaries that explained this. Io and Europa (two Jovian moons) head up due to tidal interactions. NOVA is a good documentary. :)
