Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

bye to you all

Forgivenmuch,

There is a fine line in ministering to the world and not being pulled down by it.

If we are not willing to discuss what we believe how can a muslim see why the Koran cannot be true? I think that some Christians are called to minister to certain groups of people from other faiths. How can they hear the gospel if we are so separate that we won't share the love of God with them?

There are lots of good opportunities here too it seems, non Christians asking for prayer, chances for mature Christians to help younger ones, opportunities to fellowship with other Christians.

I don't know about the liberal room. I haven't done a whole lot of looking at the doctrinal stuff yet. I haven't been here very long.

I really would like to hear more about this though. I do hope you come back.

Hi / Bye Gina ,

After one prays and finds what they believe to be The Lord's leading , ( and such leading is not in direct conflict with Christ's Teachings and His Apostle"s Doctrine ) , they should follow that leading ... and if we stay vigilant and humble minded , we will find confirmation , whether , we have been led appropriately , or not . And in this realm of such leading , The Lord may have one to do something which He would have another to do not .

When I first came to this forum , it was in the morality / philosophy section , ( or something like that ), which I began to correspond in ... but it soon became apparent that the conversations generally led to talking about controversial issues of the flesh . Which really starts to be excruciatingly boring , and grossly unedifying , after just a little bit .

But there were other places to read and write , and so my time went elsewhere ... mainly here .

A while back , as the day began , I heard a still small voice say , that people's prayers were changing [ in part ] because of the things which were written as a result of my laboring to share , some of what The Lord has shared with me .

So , I'm encouraged to continue , at least for now .

The advice which comes to mind concerning you and your declared departure is this - Pray and try to not take the offensiveness of others personally ... for their offence is primarily , and almost entirely , against The Lord ; and we who " know better " are to encourage reconcilliation , wherever it can be received , and to do that effectively , it helps to not get offended , or be emotionally perturbed by the perversity , or foolishness of others .

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation . <-----> 2nd Corinthians 5:18

There are surely , many other avenues in which we can share and exchange in the spirit of ministry and fellowship . One of the other sites , I write on is ironically a muslim one where they allow " Christians & Jews " to join the discussions . Sure , there's some ( on all " sides " ) which appear to be willfully , stubbornly antagonistic ; but they are there to show the contrast between those who have the Peace of God in their life from those who do not .

Along the lines of this principle -

For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you. <-----> 1st Corinthians 11:19

And -

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. <-----> Psalm 119:165

Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. <-----> Romans 13:10

God's Peace and Love go together like do His Mercy and Truth .

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. <-----> Proverbs 16:6

The effect of God's Mercy and Truth shining in us , and through us , is godly fear and repentance , the kind which leads unto Life . Thankyou Jesus !

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. <-----> Acts 11:18

Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die ? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live ? <-----> Ezekiel 18:23

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. <-----> 2nd Peter 3:9

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. <-----> 1st Thessalonians 5:23

In Jesus' Name . Amen .

Sincerely ,

wm

I echo all that has been shared here. This overall forum is an excellent resource for Christians and unbelievers. Here hard issues can be discussed, and those who are either weak in the faith, or those who have not accepted Christ yet, can be encouraged and shown Godly wisdom. The same thing can happen in a church.

As long as you stay in your walk with the Lord, you can be a light to the others here.

Hugs,

Trish

Someone made a quote in saying that anywhere you go there is sin. That is so true. Whether it is Christian board or its walking to church there is always sin. There is NO way to escape it enless you lock yourself in your room and turn the TV off and not do anything.

The only way to exercise your Faith and flex your Spiritual "muscles" is through logical and focused "debates."

Remember : the Liberal Theology forum is for the more LIberal Christians, and the debates wouldn't turn ugly if it weren't for some of the more common trolls over there :)

Sorry to see you go!

That depends on which " you " is the true . And how long it takes for our " real " identity to be established in The Faith and Love of Christ .

What shall we say then ? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound ?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death ?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
What then ? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace ? God forbid.
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness ?
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
<-----> Romans 6:1-18

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
<-----> 1st John 3:1-10

It can be , depending on how it's applied and why .

Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed. <-----> 1st Samuel 2:30

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. <-----> Mathew 7:6

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

I know we're not perfect.

But I know that our desire is not to mix light and darkness.
Our goal is to invade the darkness.

Well said Mr Cheese. Let's invade the darkness as Jesus did... Jesus entered the world of sinners. He ate with them, walked with them and loved them. Jesus came into the world to save sinners. That is you and me and all his beautiful creation. How can they know unless we go? How can they hear unless we speak? In our day and age the 'going' involves not only putting our feet on foreign soil but also our fingers on keyboards that reach the world.
If a Muslim walked into our church I hope that none of us would send him away or get away from him but would proclaim the message of Christ crucified, which is the power of God unto salvation.
I do not spend time in those forums, it is not what God has called me to do, but Praise God for those whom he has called and who are responding and faithfully shining the light of his glory into the darkness.

Well done Christian Forums for the brave, good and hard work you do here.

Blessings, Love and Peace,
Hope

I thought the same way you did also when I first noticed, but then I came here one day and read a post (im sure its on New Christian forum) about someone converting, then another, then another... We have to mix with them to witness to them.. Maybe one day something I will say will have an effect and they will find the ONE TRUE GOD...
Thats how I have to look at it..

I don't blame you. I get in trouble with the mods here just for repeating the Bible, but they have no problem with Muslims preaching deception in the forums? It's ridiculous.

There is no need to go when there are forums here that are protected from Muslims. It doesn't make much sense to blame the forum for allowing the exchange of ideas in certain forums. The extremities of these other religions is no problem for God, and the Bible says that His Word never comes back to Him without accomplishing His will - that it should go forth in or out of season. At least the opportunity is here for those who have the patience and knowledge to speak in those forums where debate goes on. The battle is the Lord's - not our own, and we place faith in His power to change, not our ability to argue. My prayers are with CF, that it can be an avenue for God's Holy Spirit to speak to those who are supposed to hear and respond to the words of life. It is an opportunity for us all to have faith - right here. Going away for a time of fasting or rest doesn't have to be announced, but I wish thee well on the path to the Lord.

Ti 4:2 Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

Isa 55:11 It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
