Alright guys, some of you have requested to see a poem that I have written. I don't think it is very good, I wrote it about 2 years ago.... I will give you all a little background about it... My mom, my sister and myself were verbally abused by my dad since before I can remember, and it still goes on today, that is one of the reasons I moved away for school. Anyways, while going through high school, which was the worst of the abuse, whenever I decided on a career, he did not support it... so I wrote this sort of to vent my feelings.

"Daddy" - my journal date says: January 15, 2003

I will not falter, I will not fail, I will not fall,
I will stand up tall.

For those who say I can't, give this a call,
I will not falther, I will not fail, I will not fall.
You have to believe me,
Because one day you may see,
That what I have accomplished will be key.
I will not falter, I will not fail, I will not fall,
So give THAT a call.

In the future I will succeed,
And I will remember another for a good deed,
But when you are in time of need,
I will fail to give you my feed
Because in a time before you told my seed
That I would see
I will falter, I will fail, and I will fall.

You may have tried to predict the future,
But what you called,
Is not what I saw at all.
Because I do and always will stand up tall.

I like it, it almost sounds like a song. I'm so sorry that you and your family were abused!

It's terrible what your father did. I'm so sorry that had to happen to you.
But you write wonderful poetry, I really liked your poem.

isn't it wonderful that God can take what was meant for evil in your life (like the abuse) and turn it into something so good (your poetry obviously speaks your heart). As you continue to write, may He use it to help heal you.

Thank you all for your great comments! I was actually very terrified to post this... I am very happy that God has used the abuse I endured to do good, such as writing my poetry and start studying to be a social worker for juvenile delinquents.
