I wonder why he's suddenly gaining an interest in Africa. First he visits the tribespeople, now he wants to end the conflict in Darfur...why now? Why not earlier on in his presidency?
So if they didn't do it earlier, does that mean that they should not do it at all then ?

No, I didn't say that. I just said that I'm suspicious of his motives.

BTW, I'd appreciate it if you didn't put words in my mouth. Thanks.

Sorry, I'm just really on-edge tonight. It was wrong of me to take out my stress on you and I apologize.

So Senator McCain can win the presidency..or you know one of the other GOP candidates. I honestly believe he waited this long so that he could use the situation to make himself and his party look better after his horrible reign as president. Ironic how everything is happening so close to the primaries, isn't it?

I suggest a rule: never agian can we say never again until it happens never again. The world dragged its feet on Rawanda and Darfur. Genocide needs to be stopped whenever it occurs. No nation can claim moral superiority if it doesnt do everything within its power to fight genocide and call upon other nations to do so. We knew this was a genocide since at least 2004. Where the hell is EVERY nation on this?

Ever notice how even when he does something right... he is still wrong?

Everyone always screams "You are not the worlds policeman, Mr. Bush!" and then wants to know where he has been on policing Darfur...

Well maybe he should stick to helping countries that actually want our help.

So it was bad to end Saddam's reign of terror (estimated 600,000 civilian deaths)?
There are alot of Iraqis who would disagree with you.

And don't start yammering on about how people have died during the war that ended Saddam's reign... the only way to reign in the violence in Darfur would be with military might thus causing more deaths.
That's just the way it works...

Well the Iraqis didn't even want us to invade their country, so why did we even do so? That's basically asking them to be hateful towards us.

the humanitarian cause in Darfur actually warrants such action. Especially if it were well planned and we had the world behind us. Planning ahead and world unity...silly concepts.
