I understand that they only proper way to dispose of your previous years palms is to burn them - correct? But, is there any certain way that you are to dispose of the ashes? Just wondering.

As for the disposing of it, my Parish puts any overflow of ashes into the plants, that way it goes into the ground with all living things.
