heheheh sorry folks, I had to run to the store for some ice.

Truth is, this is my friends grill, not mine. When I make burgers they're approximately 2 inches thick and stuffed with blue cheese.

and Yes. IS lenses are pretty super sweet. They have a switch to turn off the IS ability in them. ... what I can't figure out is why anyone would ever do such a thing.

Its for when you have the lens on a tripod, apparantly IS doesn`t work to well with tripods, not sure why though I can find the answer if you wish?

IS can cause issues when you are panning the camera to track a fast moving subject like in sports photography.

Mark, I'd love any info you might have readily available. The sports thingie makes sense though. When I take photos of objects in motion it rarely comes out well when I use an IS lens.

I'll have to look into this further. Thank you VERY much both of you for your input. It's very much appreciated.
