I am researching a set of ideas that explain (super)natural events from Scripture using the best models, tools, and data that science can provide. Models arent perfect - but Scripture is- and what understanding we currently possess as individuals, communities, etc can be improved. Scripture was always correct it its presentation but confusion has worked its way in from the separate authority given to scientific information. Im not saying data doesnt make sense, but some translation may help.
Are there in fact 2 separate systems of viewing Creation that complicate looking for evidence of Scripture in the past? Isnt it fair to say when Moses approaches pharaoh God said He would harden his heart or in other passages (about other sinners) make difficult the way to reconciliation? When I read these things it seems ok that pharaoh or whomever is 'the bad guy' is having it tougher as part of His judgement. Justice does have its say and its day.
A. God also says His ways are not ours.
B. God isnt necessarily bound to time in the same way and processing that we are. (field oriented perhaps)
So would the reconciliation be printed out , here ya go? Some people think that The Word should have it bold text how to get from A-B.
After some discussion about including time dilation (stretching) to account for the lab measured age of the earth Im building a case, a much stronger Scriptural case, in my mind and Id like to ask your help, advice, debate to improve this idea ...
1. St. John in Revelations 20:3 says that an angelic representative of God deals with Satan by sealing away his influence in a bottomless pit. there is no better analogy in science than a black hole as a gravitational well to void the influence of something. It is a way of dealing with Satan.
2. At the point of Creation we have The Fall and the subsequent influence of Satan spreads over the earth and God laments and plans to destroy His work in Noahs Flood. IF God is consistent in His method and Scripturally we can transfer details then I think a strong Scriptural basis for relativistic stretching can be made at the beginning of the story of how we came to be...
Some important differences are that Creation is not destroyed in a black hole (Noah needs a place to live and must survive the process see conservation of entropy in time reversed scenarios) but by looking at it we see its finite demise in the Big Bang and dissolution to a singularity in time. By looking at it (taking the place of Lot's wife)we are witnessing what God had to do to deal with Satanic influence in the beginning and we can read what He does in the future (Rev 20) and they have the same apparent structure that time is stretched. Having this at both ends means it is symmetric or ~the time line of this fallen world is symmetric. So I wish to make a case that the apparent age of the universe is related to the confinement of Satan in both cases as an act of God. We are able to stand at the edge of the Abyss(equivalently) by looking in telescopes, making measurements in a lab and adding things up. Creation is always extant and got polluted and the YEC position of Genesis is not a place to visit stepwise in time (like getting on the Orient Express looking at all the stops as we go backward) unless we convert Creation in very very complicated ways. I mean that a supragenius acted on the universe during the Flood to remediate the pollution and I find it interesting to note the commonality with Revelations and a potential mutually satisfactory explanation in relativistic constructs. The hardest part could be dealing with nonlinear relationships where 'our ways' cause them to be expected like mileposts.
Today the influence of data is creating a satanic like authority at odds with Scripture. Data about the abyssal structure of Creation is being treated as the only real authority and given Scripture we can safely ignore it. That information can, in a complex way, be created after the fact - and a realistic standpoint might be adoptable if we bring the tools of understanding to bear. Creating this translation means we can more firmly assert that we should ignore it despite the reality that is associated to it. That's a very powerful statement and needs the strongest model. Given Peter's walk on Galilee and the doubt of Thomas some of us need a little help and nothing gained will replace the underlying need for faith to some degree. But If the tactile parts of the universe do not exist except as information on fields then , to me- overwriting by specific functions and equivalences becomes a more palatable solution to any disparity between Creation and Scripture (Pssst! they are God's work). That Scripture has born this encoding principle in the subtle message of its Words is my observation. Words are instruments, and sometimes maybe Fourier transform is required to hear that something is being reverberated in a cacophony.
My conclusion then is that the history of Creation is supposed to look that way and I cannot see the YEC historical evidence with mine eyes because of corruption overworked. God, in His judgement, isnt going to answer to the faithless or the usurper by plastering His ways, the equations, right smack dab in the middle of His message. But just as pharoah had every reason to listen to Moses, his peer in Egyptian society and the clear champion amongst his advisors, God does put the answers in where, after understanding HIS ways a little more, we can refind the structure for our faith. It is just hidden, as He said, forcing us to walk back to what he is asking....
IMHW (in my humble witness)....In most simplest way we can say that the body of Christ is transfigured after The Resurrection, assert that Mary is transfigured by her association, Moses sees the transfiguration of the stick and puts the snake up on the pole to bring relief because of his witness. Every Communion brings real transfiguration in the Eurchrist -so we support this in every way- except that I have not heard us say it over the body of Creation or attempt it.
