  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i've only heard one or two songs, but they sound like they were pretty strongly influenced by third day (or technically a mix between third day and all that "praise & worship" CCM that's so in vogue). is that just me?
No, you're not alone on that. I got their debut EP to review about a year or so ago and found it to be a pretty derivative CCM-rock. I find that whole sound to be soooo boring. Nickelback isn't even good; why are so many people trying to imitate them? Ugh.

To each his own, I suppose. They're just not my thing.

cool, thanks for the info!

I'm a big fan of Building 429. I like their music and their lyrics are encouraging without getting too "rah rah" (does that make sense?) There's a fragile self-examining honesty in several of their songs and I think that makes them unique.

It will be interesting to see where there go, sound wise, on their follow up album.
