BSF - as a means of study

Hello one and all!

BSF - aka Bible Study Fellowship.

I am a BSF leader and I was wondering if there were other BFSers out there.

The next year of study starts in September and this time Genesis is up for exploring. I enjoyed last year on the Acts of the Apostles, but my favorite so far was the Minor Prophets, the year prior to that.

I have been in BSF for only two years, the last as a leader.

I thought you had to go through all 5 years to be a leader.

I enjoy the BSF studies. I went through part of Matthew in a BSF study and then moved. We don't have one at a time when I can make it in my town. I wish we did.

Good Morning!

The study is 7 years long (completing the entire Bible in that time) but if one shows the ability, the committment and a heart toward GODs work being a leader has no time constaints. Other things might factor in, but "time in class" so to speak is not one.

I am sorry you did not get the chance to finish Matthew! I moved during the Minor Prophets study and got to attend the very last study day at my current location.

I find it so wonderful that this organization offers the same study worldwide. There are well over 1000 study locations and each week we all study the same thing! Mens groups, womens groups, kids groups, singles, married - it seems like they offer a study group for everyone! It is so organized and well put together; and thankfully it allows you to study the word first in it's purest form, just scripture, no commentary until after that study effort is finished!

I just love the Lord and how He blesses the world with things like this - studying the word is such a wonderful break from the insanity of this earthly place!

Have you looked at the location registry to see if another class is nearby?

There are a couple of classes, but I cannot attend the times they have. I would need to meet on Saturday and all the meetings are Mon and Tues.

Our church has it available for women. At the time they do it, I'm working in my church's preschool so I'm unable to attend. It's wonderful for the mothers who's children are in the preschool to attend these fellowships. Especially for the mother's who do not have a church home.
