Brothers Miracle Song

This was in an email I received. Even Woman's Day magazine recognized its validity:

Dear friends:

A friend told me the story about Karen, who found out that another baby
was on the way.

Karen did what she could to help her three-year old son, Michael,
prepare for the new sibling. They found out that the new baby was going
to be a girl, and day after day, night after night, Michael sang to his
sister in Mommy's tummy.

The pregnancy progressed normally for Karen, an active church member.
Finally, Michael's little sister was born, but she was in serious
physical condition. The ambulance rushed the infant to the hospital.

The baby girl became worse. The pediatric specialist told the parents,
"There is very little hope. Be prepared for the worst."

Karen and her husband contacted a local cemetery about a burial plot.
But Michael kept begging his parents to let him see his baby sister. "I
want to sing to her," he said.

Children are never allowed in Intensive Care, but Karen decided to take
Michael to see his sister whether they liked it or not. If he didn't
see her soon, he might never see her alive.

She marched him into the ICU. The head nurse spotted him right away,
recognized him as a child, and bellowed, "Get that kid out of here.
Now! No children are allowed!"

With resolve, the usually mild-mannered Karen replied, "He is not
leaving until he sings to his sister!" Karen took Michael to his
sister's bedside. In the pure-hearted voice of a three-year-old,
Michael sang: "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy
when skies are gray..."

Instantly the baby girl responded. The pulse rate became calm and
steady. "Keep singing Michael," Karen urged.

"You never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my
sunshine away."

"The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my
arms..." Michael's little sister relaxed as healing rest seemed to
sweep over her. "Keep on singing, Michael." He did.

Tears conquered the face of the bossy head nurse. Karen glowed.
Michael continued singing, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
Please don't take my sunshine away," he continued.

Funeral plans had to be scrapped, because the next day -- the very next
day -- the little girl was well enough to go home!

Woman's Day magazine called it the miracle of a brother's song. The
medical staff called it a miracle. Karen called it a miracle of God's
love.

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission
each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

The faith of a child. :)
