Hey everyone -
We know that God hears us in our innermost being when we pray to him without words, because he knows the thoughts of all mankind.
Now, say we pray internally to God without words, but invoke the intercession of a Saint. Is this prayer heard by a Saint, so that he or she may intercede for us?
I have two theories which may provide an answer, but I wanted to check with some of you.
1) Because we are in one body by the Holy Spirit, such is the unity of us with the Blessed in Heaven that in the Holy Spirit, by the power of God, our thoughts are manifested to them. If this were not so, then Christ could not say that we will judge angels; because in such an instance he would have to give each one of the blessed a moral authority and knowledge.
2) Such is the regenerated mind in the beautific vision, and even so in the Resurrection of the Body.
So, can a Saint (like our Lady, Thomas Aquinas, John Chrysostom, etc. etc.) hear our prayers said internally, if they are not omniscient?
