  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tonight we will be moving CF to a new server so there will be a downtime of around 1-2 hours starting at 11 PM CT. We will use this thread to update users when the move is completed or if there are any issues that might prolong the downtime.

Update: The server upgrade is complete. Please let us know if you have any issues.

I've noticed on the good side, no false re-directs like before.

A common issue I would get is saying the site isn't there or it taking forever to connect to the URL. This seems to have fixed issues of that nature.

I have been experiencing periodic issues with the server being down for around an hour or so, usually in the mid day EST.

It happened to me again today from about 2:00pm EST until maybe 10 minutes ago (I stepped away from the PC). I receive the error:
