These are the words of a friend of mine, who wanted them to be posted where Christians can see them.

His name is Brian.

The way I see it

As a modern day Christian in this enlightened age,
I have no problem with the 'Big Bang', Darwin or any other theory,
Whatever way creation began and evolved,
Is exactly the way it was meant to be.

The billions of years since creation and evolution began
Are but moments in time.
Before time began there existed 'The Word',
The 'Word' dwelt with 'God', it lay in his Might.
Out of the darkness 'God' made there be light.

Those brilliant minds, so dismissive of 'God',
Would rather deny their own logic,
And believe something comes from nothing
Than admit to the existence of God

John 1 v 1-5, 14
The Word became Flesh and Dwelt Among Us.

Nothing comes from Nothing

Nothing comes from nothing, this we can agree,
For anything to happen, something has to be.

Creation they say, was with the 'Big Bang',
From the smallest atom, to the making of man.
Wise men can prove this, beyond all doubt,
Yet they see nothing that brought it about.

Something was there to set it in motion,
Because it's unseen, they have not a notion.
Something from nothing just cannot be,
They can't understand what they cannot see.

Creation from nothing is truly absurd.
Before time began, there existed the word,
The word dwelt with God, it lay in his Might,
Out of the darkness, God made there be light.

They deny their logic, when God they dismiss,
They cannot explain deep mysteries like this.
It cannot be proved, it has always been.
Faith is the evidence of those things unseen.

The Wonder of Faith

Faith is a word with a wonderful meaning,
It can move mountains, all things are possible,
The essence of faith is entirely redeeming,
Faith is the essence of those things invisible.

How would it be if we had the proof,
Instead of the Way, the Life and the Truth,
Gone would be our freedom, our choice,
No longer free spirits who have a voice

Proof, it seems, is what many seek,
Not the right answer, it is surely clear.
It would serve only to make us weak
To obey God's Will, just out of fear.

'The Word - Divine Love', is how it began,
With freedom of will, as part of the plan.
God gave his Son, that we should know,
Through faith we are saved, and reap what we sow.

The need for faith becomes very clear,
When the option of proof would mean only fear.
Submissive slaves are all we would be,
God's divine wisdom makes sense you see.

Grace and Forgiveness

God's grace and forgiveness, is ours to receive,
Most freely given when we truly believe
The truth must be in us, not merely said,
God knows our hearts, whatÕs in our head.

We receive forgiveness when we truly repent,
It comes from God when it is really meant.
The truth is not in us if we sin the same way,
God\s grace allows us to wait one more day.

We cannot be perfect, God gave us free will,
He gave us his son that we may learn still.
Not only his words, but deeds and behaviour,
The way, truth and life, as taught by the Saviour.

To be forgiven, we must forgive others too,
Do unto others as you want done unto you.
Until we can live the life that is meant,
Our sins will betray us, to stay and torment.

At the end of the day, when our time has come,
We look back to see just what we have done.
GodÕs grace and forgiveness, there for the asking,
God gave us his son, for the life everlasting.

For Thy Glory

Sometimes I glimpse a wonderful place,
Such peace and contentment within thy space,
It cannot be bought or yet earned,
Selfless fulfilment has to be learned

No more to take, only to give,
For Thy glory better to live

Just a Thought

This little verse but just a thought,
In the dark futility the atheist be caught,
They believe only in worldly things
The shallow comfort of material things

So sense of ultimate accountability
How sad for them in their dark futility
Where will they be when their time has come
When they are wrong their beliefs come undone.

If the faithful are wrong at the end of the day
They will know nothing and need not dismay.

Not said to comfort the faithful they need it not,
Said only to show the futility of the atheist's lot.
