There is a gentleman at my church called Brian, who I think is a Lutheran at heart, but who worships with us in the Parish Church. He used to live in the US, and attended a Lutheran church there.
Brian is very serious about his faith, to the extent that he works every day, rain or shine, in our churchyard, keeping it looking like a garden. His mother and father, his younger brother and his son are in the churchyard, and because they are there, he looks after it for everyone else. He has done this for more than nine years; after this year it will be his tenth. Brian is seriously ill, and every year thinks it will be his last, but so far he is still with us.
Brian wrote some poems, which I posted to the poetry part of this forum, where they have been read, but no comments have been left. Brian is not on the internet, but says he wants me to make them more widely known in other places. Rather than repeat them here, I will just put a link for anyone who wants to see them. And I will do it here, because I think if his spirituality is going to resonate with anyone, it is most likely to do so with other Lutherans.
So, thanks for looking, and if anyone has any comments I will pass them back to Brian. He will be most grateful.
