Apparently someone doesn't know the difference between CORRELATIONS and CAUSATIONS.shawnhawkins said:It is a fact that around 1992 the statistics for drug abuse and anti social behavior went up about 300 percent. Just about the time that Snoop Dog and Tupac and all of the other gangsta rappers came on the scene. Just about the time that it hit really big. It doesn't take a genius to put two and two together.
He comes wearing the shoes, the matching hat, and the matching shirt. The football player who gave him the money to buy the shoes walks in and he's really ticked, so the rookie has to run away (good thing he has those new shoes, I guess!). I just saw that one tonighti*heart*donuts said:I There's a new commercial for Footlocker tho. Some football players in a locker room and they send the rookie to go buy like the captain some shoes. The rookie comes back wearing the shoes and I don't remember the rest
Yes, your flawed logic in this case would be correct is in fact the Baptist were doing the killing. Nice try though. In the case of African American youth commiting crimes parallel to the insurgance of rap music. Whenever a new trend or style is presented on the newest rap video, the riff-raff follows. Look at what is going on around you.towodi said:Apparently someone doesn't know the difference between CORRELATIONS and CAUSATIONS.
For example, while in college, I took a psycology class. One of the (flawed) studies that we examined stated that Baptists are more likely to be murderers. The evidence? Most southern states are predominately baptist. Southern states have a higher murder rate than other states (I don't know if that is still true, but it was when this study was done). Therefore, baptists are more likely to kill other people. The problem? The study didn't look at other things that could have caused the higher murder rate, such as more poverty for one thing. It was flawed.
So are your arguments.
And for the record, I have never lived in a gated community. I spent most of my life on a reservation that was beyond poor. Some of the children there were actually sponsored children (I think it was WorldVision) because we were so poor there. And now, I live in the city. And I have watched an hour of BET before - but it was the gospel hour.
Umm...the lyrics go with the shoes and those lyrics for that song isn't even really bad. I have listened to the Triple 6 Mafia for many years and I've had all their CDs including the underground ones. Have you looked at ALL of their lyrics? Have you looked up the lyrics to "When God Calls Timeout"? Three 6 Mafia speak about God in there their music too. I really don't see how you have ANY right to call them scumbags. I've never considered them a bad influence on me.shawnhawkins said:Do a search on the lyrics of "three six mafia" the group that does the rap for footlocker. I warn you they are bad. The big picture is that while this group doesn't say anything bad in the commercial they are vile horrible violent sexist drug using scumbags. If you shop at footlocker then they will continue to hire scumbags like this. If you don't, and make it known to footlocker why you are not going to shop there then they will not hire scumbags like this anymore. When you buy from footlocker, you are putting money into the pockets of scum like three six mafia and you are saying through your actions that that kind of behavior is O.K.
Is this explaining the BIG PICTURE well enough?
They are a bad influence and your inactivity in this matter is saying to the world that they are permisable in this society.
Not surprisingly, what I said zinged right over your head.shawnhawkins said:Yes, your flawed logic in this case would be correct is in fact the Baptist were doing the killing. Nice try though.
And it sickens me that, in order to promote your agenda, you deliberately tar everyone with the same brush and deliberately use very faulty "logic" (I use the term VERY loosely) to attempt to recruit others to believe as you do. So I guess we're even.I sickens me to see on this forum that dupes that really don't know a thing about the drug trade and the connection to the rap community put my efforts down to boycott Footlocker.
I don't think you even know what the "real world" is, buddy. You really need to get out into the real world and learn a few things.
Dude, I lived homeless on the streets of SanFrancisco for three years and was addicted to crack for six months. Is that real enough for ya', BUDDY? I know of what I speak.towodi said:Not surprisingly, what I said zinged right over your head.

So what do you concider "that bad"? Should a group use a curse word in every line of a song? From the lyrics I read, they only use curse words in 4 out of 5 lines. Shall I post some of thier lyrics or are you just talking off out of you exit hole?JesusRox said:Umm...the lyrics go with the shoes and those lyrics for that song isn't even really bad. I tried to find the word God in any of 666 mafias lyrics and couldn't find any reference to God. Maybe you could enlighten me.JesusRox said:Umm...the lyrics go with the shoes and those lyrics for that song isn't even really bad. Thanks God, oh I mean shawnhawkins for telling me I'm not Christian. I figured you would go and post the worst of their lyrics. I don't think you've ever met them, nor do you know them personally to be judging them. Is that what God tell us to do? I also love how you chose to write 666 just to make them look even worse.shawnhawkins said:I tried to find the word God in any of 666 mafias lyrics and couldn't find any reference to God. Oh, maybe you are speaking of the same group that wrote the lyrics to this little ditty:
**Lyrics removed**
Is this a bad enough influence for ya?
And you say you have been listening to this group for years and there is nothing wrong with the kind of filth they pump out?
Anyone sticks up for this group cannot in any way call themselves Christian.
Show me all these curse words in "Ridin' Spinners", the song used in the Foot Locker commercial.shawnhawkins said:So what do you concider "that bad"? What do you think 3 six mafia stands for? And to call me God is blasphemy, I think as a Christian you would have known that. Oh, and to say that they are cool because they thank thier Lord Jesus and pump out the kind of filth that they put out, makes them even more of a danger. If they put out filth like the majority of thier other works and then in thanking Jesus openly then so sap may say to another person, "hey they are O.K. cause they thank Jesus. Do you honestly think that Jesus, our lord and savior would want to be honored in the way that they trick you into thinking that they are honoring Him? Get real dude. Ya know Al Capone did alot for kids but look at his track record. Assuring that kids get fresh milk in thier school lunches doesn't make up for the hundreds of people that he killed. I see your logic now, you can do any vile thing that you want as long as you thank Jesus.JesusRox said:Thanks God, oh I mean shawnhawkins for telling me I'm not Christian. Here's one of their songs:
What you gonna do when god calls time out
Are you gonna run, try to hide, scream and shout
Are you gonna drop to your knees, cry and pout
What you gonna do when god calls time out
What you gonna do when god calls time out
Deep in your mind, when you have any doubts
Cause all your time on this Earth is ran out
On your mighty mighty date
When god calls time out
To all you murderers, maniacs, fornicators, rapists, thieves
All you drug dealers, gang bangers, smokers
All you sinners; sinners, you best take heed
As I tell of the day we were beg and plead
King of King, Lord of Lords, see us coming
To late for forgiveness, not too late for promise
Did you know everytime you were unmarried and screwed
Each one of those counted as a sin fool
You said it's alright cause God grows the weed
He also grew the fruit in the Garden of Eden
Don't abuse every season, getting a step closer
The Mark of the Beast is around if you focus
You said you forgot but you still hesitatin
You best beware, Mr. Satan said his ways
Is to come, let you beg in the flames he has tamed
And make you a slave throughout infinite days
Oh, and just to let you know in their CDs they do thank their lord Jesus Christ.
