He suffered greatly I imagine with his Parkinson's progression. What a great athlete in his day. My thoughts are with his family.

I wonder if he ever had the deep brain stimulation done, my cousin had it done and it greatly improved his quality of life...

Something that would be private knowledge among his wife and family I imagine. The report I saw last night said that in the end he communicated with his mouth in making smiles or frowns, and very limited hand movements. He was admitted to hospital with breathing issues and never left.

Michael J.Fox who's battling the same disease and was a close friend said when he heard the news of Ali's passing he was sad but also relieved. Ali didn't have to suffer the trials the disease put his body through anymore.
I respect that perspective from someone who knew Ali and who also is suffering his own trials with Parkinson's.
