  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay.. Has anyone seen the Bourne Supremacy yet? Is it even out in theaters? Lol.. I haven't seen the first Bourne movie yet, and I want to, if anyone has seen the first one, how did you like it?
I'm 16, and I'm a christian, and I'm really careful at what I watch, and how much I see and such, so I'd like to get y'alls opinion about the movie/s. Thanks a bunch.

I've seen the Bourne Identity and it is one of my favorites. It gets just the teeniest bit gory in Paris when the first assassin comes to kill Bourne, but other than that, not too bad. It had a GREAT plotline, some humor and I really liked how good the actors were. I can't wait to see the Bourne Supremacy! "Sooo... uhh..." "What?" "We're about to hit a bump..." If you've seen the Bourne Identity, you know what I'm talking about. :D

I've had the Bourne Identity on DVD for quite a while now. One of those movies you really never get bored of watching. The Mrs. and I will definitely watch The Bourne Supremacy just like we'll watch The Bourne Ultimatum once it makes it to film as well.

God bless!

enjoy movies for what they are - movies. it's escapist at best and at worst, a waste of time. some of the best movies are the ones you probably live to avoid. stop that. you're young. enjoy movies while you still have the time for them.

The Bourne Identity was one of the very few movies I've ever seen that was fantastic even though it only vaguely followed story in the book. Very intense action and suspense even though the protagonist is hardly an underdog. Watch it! I can't wait to see Supremacy.

caught it when it opened yesterday (got the handy 'free' ticket when i bought Identity on DVD) and enjoyed it overall, definitely want to read the books sometime soon. i can see where folks won't like it and it had one inconsistency that made me wince
for all the effort Bourne put into not killing folks he wrecked a heck of a lot of cars with innocent people in them :(
but otherwise i'd recommend it to anyone that liked the first one.

what inconsistency? he's a trained killer and a conscience isn't exactly high on his priorities when he's out to kill some one. collateral damage happens. bourne isn't a hero by any means. he's the anti-hero. what little good he does, he does most of it for himself out of a sense of self-preservation and/or revenge. the movie kicked all sorts of *** left and right. the effects were not overdone - even subdued. the acting is serious and no one really plays any part over the top. the fighting was down right brutal. overall, very few people died in the movie. all the actors who lived through the first one were back for the most part which is itself a pretty impressive feat.

as for the books, don't read them expecting to get the same story. the cold war references have all been removed from the movies since the books are a tad out of date. the movie only uses the character as a jumping point.

I haven't read the books(I don't even know how many there are), but I was pleasantly not surprised when the door was left wide open for a third movie. I thought they were both very well done. Not far and away the best movies ever, especially since it's hard to make a good movie in the spy genre with its high standards. But all in all, I enjoyed them all very much.

As for the inconsistency... he avoids killing as much as possible, but 1)his life is at risk, and 2)smashed cars doesn't always mean death.

The Bourne Supremacy was awesome. Matt Damon is a great actor. As of July, it's definitely the movie of 2004. The non-stop action and drama is what impressed me. Too bad I haven't seen Identity yet.

SPOILER

Is that guy who killed Bourne's girlfriend psychic? He knows where Bourne is in a heartbeat. Based on the end where Bourne plays games with Landy, I think there will be a 3rd movie and I bet it's going to be called The Bourne Invincibility or Immortality.
