The fact that nobody has yet to claim and responsibility makes it feel less like terrorism. There's no point in committing an act of terror unless it's pretty obvious why the attack was made
FBI and al Qaeda both "struggling" to identify culprit behind Boston Marathon bombingWasn't it a couple of weeks after 911 before they figured out it was al qaeda?
Tax Day....and I imagine you believe the fact that Tim McVeigh bombed the Federal Office that directed the Waco Massacre, on the anniversary of the massacre, had nothing to do with why McVeigh did the bombing?.....
I hope this doesnt just make people stay home instead of attending public events. I remember standing near pretty big crowds in 2008 when your Queen paraded to Parliament for the opening. This is awful. It's awful how the authorities know next to nothing about who did it and why. My thoughts and prayers are with the Boston people, I know they can overcome this and will not be terrorized.
I presume "Duh" is supposed to mean I'm stupid. If that's the case, you might want to listen to aTax Day.

Duh.
.
Come at me?? Why on earth would I want to do that?
I'm glad people are finally coming around to the fact that this was a terrorist attack instead of a "lone wolf" operation. Maybe in a few years, they will accept the fact that it wasn't the work of a Fundamentalist Christian (aka a "crazy").
Captain, please explain to me, why you think this was "amateurish".
The bomb was made according to directions spelled out by Al Qaeda,
the case has law enforcement officers baffled after three days;
and if the attackers wanted to demonstrate their power over America, as they did on 9/11, they are doing a pretty good job of it.
Im not attached to any particular explanation. Theres nowhere for me to backpedal from.I presume "Duh" is supposed to mean I'm stupid. If that's the case, you might want to listen to a
As for "Tax Day", yes, I thought of it -- long before I even knew Massachusetts had a Patriot Day celebration in April. I paid my taxes at the last minute, so the date was etched in my mind. It COULD have been a symbolic day, if the target were Congress or an IRS office. It wasn't. Patriot Day in MA commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord, fought in Metro Boston, that began the American Revolution. The symbolism there was not taxes, but America -- which ought to have tipped off nearly EVERYONE here that it was enemies of America who perpetrated this attack.
The suspects have not been aprehended yet, so you still have time to heckle about this; but when they are arraigned, be prepared to backpedal in my direction. Plenty of big egos here have been lambasting me; but they have been wrong. Because they have been wrong, I would like to see them have to eat crow -- which they will do, along with lying cover-ups.

No, he speaks as someone who thinks about as highly about this whole number-fetish people seem to have going on here, as he does about the ridiculous conspiracy theories about how the moon landing is a fake, how Elvis is still alive, etc.

Meh, I'm not convinced it was a terrorist attack. We really won't know that until we know who did it and why. If it was just a nut or two who felt like killing/maiming a bunch of people because, well, why the hell not (a la Newtown)? Then I wouldn't classify it as terrorism. I agree it's unlikely that someone would use this sort of tactic "just because". That's something I'd expect them to use a gun for and just go out in a blaze of "glory". It's still, IMO, premature to really call it terrorism.

Uh, seems to me like you are redefining terrorism. Now if you added the adjective political terrorism I would agree. But the very nature of the attack and the seeming lack of a specific target makes it fit as terrorism.
Says who?....The picture of the suspects released by the FBI.
From Gawker:
After its embarrassing performance on Monday in the aftermath of the marathon bombings, has the Post redeemed itself by scooping the first, much-discussed photos of the suspects?
No. As CBS' John Miller reports, neither man is likely to be a suspect in the bombings, and these are not the pictures of the possible suspects that authorities plan on releasing. But I didn't need John Miller to tell me that the "persons of interest" in the photos are two local kids who had already been checked out by Reddit and other m-board "crowd-sleuthing" efforts yesterday, and found to be a incredibly unlikely suspects.
NYP is really doing itself a disservice by not fact checking this stuff out.
CNN also said there were arrests yesterday when there wasn't...although I think they got this mixed up with the ricin case.
