I asked this before the server crashed and didn't get all the info I wanted so I'm going to ask again. What exactly does it mean to become a born again christian and what all do you have to do become one? Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

We were born of the flesh, but we need to be born of the spirit, since our spirit was killed by sin, (sin is death) if that makes any sense. Jesus gives us that new life and thus we are born again.

There are many aspects to the gospel and unfortunately in todays day and age, the mentality is 'how little do I need to know or do to be saved' instead of trying for as much as you can know and do. The gospel should not be watered down.

Here are some highlights of the major parts of the gospel that one needs to understand.

The holiness of God. God is utterly holy, and His las therefore demands perfect holiness. Because He is holy, God hates sin. Sinners cannot stand before Him.
We all have sinned. Sin is violation of God's law. Sin is what makes true peace impossible for unbelievers. All have sinned. Sin makes the sinners worthy of death. Sinners can do nothing to earn salvation. Sinners cannot change their own sin nature. Sinners are therefore in a helpless state.
What Christ has done. He is eternally God. He is Lord of all. He became man. He is utterly pure and sinless. The sinless one became a sacrifice for our sin. He shed His own blood as an atonement for sin. He died on the cross to provide a way of salvation for sinners. He rose triumphantly from the dead. His righteousness is imputed to those who trust Him. Thus He freely justifies all who trust in Him.
What God demands of us. Repent. Turn your heart from all that dishonours God. Follow Jesus. Trust Him as Lord and Saviour.
Count the cost. Take up your cross. Be prepared to follow Christ even to death.

What kind of warrior is a P.O.D. Warrior? I wonder what P.O.D. stands for! What is the nature of the question? Are you seriously seeking or do you have an agenda? If you are seriously seeeking find what Jesus said about it in John 3 beginning with the first verse!

ALWAYS go by what Jesus says and NOT what you will get in replies here!

Hey man thanks for the PM man I don't get many:o. A P.O.D. warrior is a warrior for christ who is a fan of the band Payable On Death (P.O.D.) It's kind of premature though since I'm don't know a lot of thing about christianity to be a warrior yet. I just want that screen name to be there when I become one. I'm asking the question because I'm want to learn more about christianity. Yes, I am seriously seeking. Why would you think I have an agenda man? I know I also need to read the bible for answers but I want to ask questions about some thing I haven't got into in the bible yet. Did you think from my post I had another aganda? I don't see how you could get that idea.

To be born again simply means that you are a new creation in Christ when you repent of your sinful past life and accept Jesus into your life. You need to ask for forgiveness for the sin that has been prevalent in your life so far, and to repent genuinely an seek to fulfill the laws of God : to live a christ filled life that glorifies His name.

In other words, don't do things to please yourself, do things that would please God. Seek to put aside your sinful ways, perhaps things like, drinking, smoking, lustfullness, lying, stealing etc...(i'm not saying you do these things ...i'm giving you a general idea of sinfulness).

The bible tells us that those who accept God and seek his ways, are new creations. The slate is wiped clean by the cleansing blood of Jesus, and we get a second chance.
