Here is a neat new(er) game on the web. It allows you to create your own character that will compete against other people's character to accumulate points and gain attributes as you "level up." The kicker is that you don't actually control the fighting action. It is all simulated. You just sit back and watch. You are only allowed a certain amount of visits to the arena each day, so it will take time to build up your characters strength. You can also recruit pupils for your character, which will also give you experience points and help build up your "brute." Anyway, the game is more fun than I've made it sound, and it is very addictive. Here is the URL that can get you started, as well as build up my pupil list.
