It's always been 'nazi gestapo harassing and kidnapping citizens'.If reports are true they are abusing their authority, but I also know how people exaggerate and lie about law enforcement actions so I am not so quick to condemn them
There seems to be conflicting information on this account from last April:So, the ends justify the means? Where is this ending? Are we changing any criminal hearts or creating havoc where more and more will not support the police? Perhaps we can be so extreme that civil war is coming? In my opinion the Federal government is overreaching. Using current laws with false pretenses and pushing the envelope. If the Feds would do their homework better they would not be making so many mistakes and causing so much turmoil. That there is an ICE quota makes it hard to do this. It is as Ben Franklin said, trading liberty for security brings neither.
U.S.-citizen family 'traumatized' after ICE raided their Oklahoma home in search of someone else
A mother and her daughters had their phones, laptops and cash life savings confiscated as part of a search warrant issued for other people.www.nbcnews.com
So the home was owned by an alleged human smuggler. So little less scrutiny. Might be wise to do some surveillance to see if he is there. In this case the couple renting it had only arrived two weeks ago. Still, the roughness they encountered was uncalled for. The point is that ICE and Trump are over-reaching and causing harm to US citizens. It might make good news for some but most are turned off from this. I despise all government overreach. There seems to be conflicting information on this account from last April:
Get the Facts: Oklahoma home raided by ICE is owned by human smuggling suspect
The Department of Homeland Security posted a statement about the story on X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter, on Thursdaywww.koco.com
Percicly, one division. As I pointed out, there are many other divisions under Federal control that could have been called in to help with the situation. Boston made it very clear they would not participate in protecting Federal agents that are pursuing an unconstitutional agenda. Additionally, why was border patrol even involved? They belong on the border. The article only mentions the Border Patrol and believe it or not there are situations where law enforcement can be overwhelmed and have to call for assistance.
In this case they had to shoot a woman so I hope your post is not an attempt at humor
ICE has been crying wolf. Here is a link to CBS News reporting that ICE agents in Broadview are making repeated unwarranted and false 911 calls to Broadview police.Chicago PD confirmed that a border patrol agent requested assistance and they didn’t respond

No joke . Homeland Security has no boundaries. No joke. The assault on the apartment building using drones, snipers and helicopters to raid the residents by breaking down doors, shattering windows and worse if all zip- tie half naked children is emblematic of the disgraceful actions endorsed and promoted by Kristi Noem. Shameful.
Chicago is over 200 miles from the nearest border. The incident I posted about was in Chicago
the U.S. Border Patrol makes arrests in areas far from the border itself, operating within a 100-mile "reasonable distance" from any international boundary or U.S. coastline.
While Chicago isn't next to the border, it is sometimes considered in a "100-mile border zone" because the Great Lakes are included in that definition, allowing it to be near Canada's territorial waters.Chicago is over 200 miles from the nearest border.
They're afraid somebody might throw a sandwich at them.I can't believe that between ICE, Boarder Patrol, military, FBI and Homeland Security officers, they could not handle this situation. Rammed? Boxed in? Since when are these individuals so helpless?
Maybe a set up....who knows.
Contrary to the impressions from the south, no part of Illinois is close to Canada or an international border. Not one single drop of Lake Michigan is in Canada. It's the largest lake *in* the USA.The incident I posted about was in Chicago

They are doing what Trump wants them to do. Do you think Trump cares, if laws are broken. Under his commands. He doesn't.If reports are true they are abusing their authority, but I also know how people exaggerate and lie about law enforcement actions so I am not so quick to condemn them

What about Portland or Los Angeles or DC or Baltimore or Philly? While Chicago isn't next to the border, it is sometimes considered in a "100-mile border zone" because the Great Lakes are included in that definition, allowing it to be near Canada's territorial waters.
ICE is not the Border Patrol. CBP is assisting ICE, I don’t know all the locations they’re involved withWhat about Portland or Los Angeles or DC or Baltimore or Philly?
Are all these cities near international borders?
But I’m not wrong! While Chicago isn't next to the border, it is sometimes considered in a "100-mile border zone" because the Great Lakes are included in that definition, allowing it to be near Canada's territorial waters.
It really doesn’t matter CBP can assist ICE anywhere in the US, see the previous postBut I’m not wrong!
Okay
That is dumb geography. Lake Michigan is separated from any body of water shared with Canada by the Straits of Mackinac which is narrow enough that I have driven over it. There is a Coast Guard station just outside it at St. Ignace. While Chicago isn't next to the border, it is sometimes considered in a "100-mile border zone" because the Great Lakes are included in that definition, allowing it to be near Canada's territorial waters.
It’s irrelevant. See post #34 and 36That is dumb geography. Lake Michigan is separated from any body of water shared with Canada by the Straits of Mackinac which is narrow enough that I have driven over it. There is a Coast Guard station just outside it at St. Ignace.
Maybe they were a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State. Gotta use that 2A sometime.Chicago police records shared with the Sun-Times show that a Border Patrol agent had called for assistance, reporting that roughly 30 agents had been “surrounded by a large crowd of people.”
