Can you guys give your recommendations for good parenting books? I have a five month old boy. If there are any books about being a stay at home mom or family dynamics that would be neat.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, I have his book "Bringing up Boys." It was pretty good but didn't really tell me anything I didn't now except some alarming statistics.

There is also, Dare to Discipline, The Strong Willed Child, Parenting isn't for Cowards, and he now has a Q and A book but I can't remember the name. These books are more about discipline and things of that nature if that is what you are looking for.

Does anyone know if Dr. Dobson has anything on sibling rivalry? I've heard him say that the strongest sibling rivalry occurs between boys who are about 2 yrs. apart which is what I have. I need any help I can get.
I also live the Love and Logic series by Jim Fay. It's more about discipline which may not be what you're looking for right now, but it won't be long before you'll need it.

1) Raising Boys - Steve Biddulph
2)The Complete Idiots Guide to Fatherhood - can't remember who wrote it.
Got both of them from Amazon. Very good reading. However, probably not for those who advocate using violence towards their children, although maybe they need to read them more than anyone.

It's alittle early, but getting the right mindest now can really help... "How to Talk so Children will Listen and Listen so Children will Talk" is great!
